Why not just stop watching games? I mean clearly you're not enjoying yourself.

Given his assessment of Vlad, I don't think he ever started watching.

Imagine thinking an elite 23-year-old 1B is washed up and feeling better about it by cheering for a team whose franchise saviour is a year older and has been in the league for a month? Yikes.

Ok Sportsnet, let's keep hearing about how much fun the guys have in the dugout and how happy go lucky these guys are. Just highlights the lack of f***s these guys give for the game.

Yes and Vladdy saw the bullpen has been sad lately so he decided to spread that joy to them in the 8th inning.

It's amazing that this garbage is still going on. Remember in 2015 when people said the Jays were too much of an "all or none" team while they were actually among the best in the league in BB%, K%, OBP, HR, and pretty much everything else? People are dumb.

Over the last three years, two teams have struck out less than the Jays. Two. That's it. And yet, somehow, people still think they're a team that just hits HR and strikes out all the time. They're 6th in OBP in that time, ahead of the Yankees and Braves and Mets and Padres and and a few other teams people seem to wish the Jays offense was more like.

You may not be familiar with George Springer. You should look him up.
Right now,utter crap.

Not gonna lie though, the O's aren't that bad this year and have a ton of talent coming up. Not to mention they have the 1st, 33rd, 42nd, and 67th picks in the draft. Don't think I've ever seen a division as strong as the current AL East is shaping up to be.

Is it really just strikeouts and home runs if they are:

BA: 3rd
OBP: 5th
SLG: 2nd
wRC+: 4th
K%: 10th
EV: 1st
xBA: 1st

If you're going to argue this point you should probably look at the state of baseball as a whole. You want to see strikeouts and homeruns? Atlanta has the 3rd highest K% and the 2nd most home runs. They also have 0 sac hits and 0 bunt hits. Talk about a lack of small ball!

The bats are pretty damn good, yea, but again we don’t have enough pitching. It’s clear as day what Shap and Atkins need to do by the deadline. But it is frustrating when you already spent serious assets to get Berrios last year and this year you’re looking to do same thing. And then we still need more bullpen arms. Then hopefully Berrios will back to being Jose Berrios for a consistent stretch and then we can match the Yanks rotation for the playoffs easily.

Some bad ones here where they want Tiedemann and Orelvis/Groshans and a 3rd piece. But some others where they want guys like Biggio, Gurriel and/or Pearson which i would gladly do.

23. Blue Jays: Tucker Toman, 3B, Hammond HS, Columbia, S.C. (No. 35)
One of the best high school bats in the Draft, Toman could climb into the top half of the first round as a discount possibility. Every club from 23-28 seems to have interest in Florida outfielder Sterlin Thompson. The Jays could target other college bats, such as DeLauter, Beavers, Graham, Gilbert and Wallace.

Really like the Toman pick here. Seems to be a underslot guy which great potential.

Rocker going as high as 17 and the 2nd pitcher off the board is a surprise. Snelling and Lesko dropping to 29 and 30 is a surprise as well.

I still don't really understand how moving Gurriel makes sense for the Jays. Castillo would be a huge improvement for the rotation, but then we get... what? Tapia in the lineup even more often?

I don't know what's better: Stripling rattling off like twice as many non-baseball-players as everyone else with ease or that Chapman knows Rush and Trailer Park Boys

It wouldnt for the Jays or the Reds. But if i could get Castillo where Gurriel is a main piece over Orelvis, Groshans or Tiedemann, i take it.

Its always easier to find perennial 2 WAR LF at the deadline than a TORP who has averaged 4,4 WAR a season in his career. Also considering Gurriel has 1 year left on his deal, its a no brainer for me.

If say i could get Castillo for Biggio and Gurriel (which we all know isnt happening). I could/would take Orelvis and other prospects to get switch hitting Bryan Reynolds to play CF who is available. Springer moves to less strenous LF and you improve your lineup and CF defense over Tapia and Springer. Sure easier said than done. But in the off-season you can get a TORP without giving up prospects or any of your top players, i would. Because at the deadline, prospects are gold and you can use them in other deals.

23. Toronto Blue Jays — Peyton Graham, SS, Oklahoma

Over the last 12 months, the Blue Jays have moved their last two first-round picks in trades, including shortstop Austin Martin, who was shipped to Minnesota in the José Berríos deal. They’ve still got a robust supply of middle infielders in their system — not to mention a couple of pretty good young ones on their MLB team — but this could be an opportunity to add another player with above-average upside at shortstop or third base to their system. Graham’s defensive versatility — he can play in the outfield, as well — seems to align with the team’s preference to acquire athletic, versatile players. He has speed, too, and the bat has the potential for power. — Kaitlyn McGrath

Brought him up a few weeks ago and the Yankees get him;

While he seemed a solid candidate for a buy-low big league deal, he lingered on the market until after the lockout. The reason became evident shortly after league business resumed, as he was hit in April with an 80-game suspension after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance. The suspension was announced just before Opening Day but was the result of a failed test from before the December 2 lockout.

Now that the ban is up, he’ll have to pitch his way back to the big leagues.
He’ll presumably spend some time at the complex building into game shape before reporting to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The Yankees could eventually turn to Rodríguez as a late-season bullpen option, but he won’t be eligible for postseason play in 2022 as a result of his suspension. He has four-plus years of big league service time and won’t have enough time this season to eclipse the five-year threshold, so he’d be controllable through 2024 if he earns an MLB look and impresses club brass.

I think the Jays should sell. There are way too many holes to fill. Especially pitching. You couldn’t possibly trade for enough between now and August. Time to think about selling.

Not everyone processes their emotions the same way. Just because they're not pouting in the dugout or throwing tantrums and destroying property it doesn't mean they don't care. There are people that laugh at funerals. Doesn't mean they're not sad, just means that not everyone is dour and grim in the face of serious or upsetting.

I'd rather this than them acting like spoiled manchildren destroying a clubhouse like Chris Sale did.

If they get swept by Seattle, something is going to need to change.

You're literally letting the Mariners right into the picture by swinging the door open for them. You're supposed to be contenders, start playing like it.

I don't care if it's a trade, or Montoyo getting shitcanned. This ain't it. It feels like they're going to need someone to guide them to the next step and I really don't think Montoyo is that guy.

Also love the Mariners trotting out a former Jays trash can in Borucki, having him pitch two clean innings and the Jays countering with a 204 year old Sergio Romo and not getting a single out.

Sell for what? Another 5 years of suckage? We finally have tons of good young talent. Add to it. Make the playoffs this year and see what you can do. Oh and fire the manager already, ffs!
