Without even having a hot streak like Travis for a while. We haven't even got to really see much of a glimpse of what his peak could be.Pearson out 3 to 4 weeks with a lay strain. Just brutal. Quickly become the new Devon Travis
I'll drive Moreno to the airport. It's never and I mean never going to happen.Angels come to you at the deadline and say they are willing to trade the remaining 1.5 years of Ohtani to you for Moreno, do you do it?
Addresses 2 of your biggest needs. Lefty bat (one of the best in the game) and starting pitching (one of the best in the game).

Be that as it may, people are going to be calling and asking about Moreno and Kirk. NOT Jansen.
In a recent BoB McCown broadcast, an interesting question was brought up about Kikuchi: if he's really struggling with so many mental issues, why doesn't one of the catchers bonk him on the head and say "stop thinking and just throw what I tell you to throw, which is your damn fastball". The answer: none of the Jays current catchers are experienced veterans, and the only one that comes close has spent a ton of time on the injured list. None of them have the presence of mind handle Kikuchi.
Sure, that's a real possibility, but if that's the problem, why isn't there a veteran catcher on the roster? Even better, why isn't there a CATCHING coach on the roster? Maybe someone should pull Russel Martin off the golf course and bring him in.
Probably because his fastball is getting absolutely annihilated too. Batters have a .373 wOBA vs his FB and that's still 90 points below his xstats. I've noticed his slider doesn't have the same vertical depth as it did the last couple of years, opting for a harder pitch that is clearly not fooling batters. If he ever had good offerings, they were probably his cutter and splitter. The cutter has been removed from his repertoire after a bad 2nd half last season and his splitter, well I have no idea why he doesn't use that more often. His 4 seam and slider are getting pummeled by righties. Like 95.4 EV pummeled. Like every batter he faces is Vladdy pummeled. Those pitches are effective against lefties, but he should probably try to bring the cutter back against righties and utilize the splitter more often.

If he isn’t listening to coaches or catchers as they call he’s his own worst enemy. They need to find a way to get him to buy in.Yusei's best pitch is his split finger/changeup by a lot. After that is his cutter followed by his slider.
The Blue Jays were trying to get him to abandon his slider completely and throw more cutters. Unfortunately, Kikuchi is actually throwing his crap slider more than ever and because he throws it on the same plane as his fastball, it is making his fastball equally trash.
In a perfect world, he throws fastball, cutter, change/split as his only three. They all do different things, they are all different speeds and they don't look enough alike that sitting one automatically makes you able to hit another.

The Jays are tied mostly to bats here, with Tucker Toman and Zach Neto the two most mentioned players. There are a number of college position players whose camps think they are almost certain to be picked by the mid-to-late 20s, so I'd expect a run of the leftover college bats to start right around here. The Jays have oddly been connected to a lot of old-for-the-class high school position players at later picks, to the point that it seems like a strategy this year.
