Relative to expectations, the Jays are actually right where I thought they'd be. On pace for over 90 wins, second in the division.

Only difference is I miscalculated who would be at the top and how the division title race would be down to the wire. I figured the Rays and Jays would battle for the title with it coming down to that last series in Tampa in September.

The Yankees evidently appear to have other plans.

This team is truly poorly constructed.

When I see Vald, Lourdes, Springer laughing and clowning around when the other team is running up the score (not yesterdays game, other games this year), kinda shows what sort of give a S#IT level is in those players. You need players who take losing personally and get pissed. There is no doubting their skill, there are all kinds of questions about their will to compete. Bichette must be dieing inside seeing that childish horseshit.

Is he dying inside when he sees them hitting better than he has this season? These are the guys that keep the morale high when on a multi game losing streak. These are also the guys that go on white hot streaks and can win games on their own. No need to deny their will to compete because they don’t take a loss as an earth shattering experience.

I have read two reports that state he yelled after his second pitch.

Yikes!

Was just coming to post that he’d been pulled. This guy will never make it unfortunately. He’ll make his money on hope he can finally get healthy. It’s really too bad.

But imagine how much better this team would be if they just moped around a little bit more!

Well said. Especially in a 162 game season.

Big Nate's path to the majors is probably as a reliever at this point unfortunately. Too much working against him to be a legit starter.

Every time they try to get him going, he gets hurt. The freak occurrences like mono, and then just straight up not being good in the very limited action he's seen at the big league level.

Feel for him. Always sucks to see an athlete cut down when they the mind is ready to compete, but the body just turns on you.

1.23 Jud Fabian
2.60 Andrew Dutkanych
2.77 Reggie Crawford
2.78 Jacob Misiorowski
3.98 Alex Hoppe

I like the strategy to punt a pick (Hoppe) to get top talent. I like Fabian because he will be a fast riser. Could be a starter in late 2023 or early 2024 if he translates quickly. But if this is the way the draft fell and Rocker only wants $2M, then I’m taking him.

Berry would be intriguing with his switch hitting power bat. Some have him in the top 10, but he is Schwarber type player, great bat but will likely end up at 1B/DH.

Dutkanych will be a tough sign but not sure he is worth $3M - though being a Vanderbilt recruit, he will take a lot. Pretty much a first round pick. Crawford is coming off Tommy John and Misiorowski has all the tools, I’m thinking he signs for more and goes higher. Only 20, elite fastball that hits 100 and very good slider with a big frame.

Good to see a fan who has overpaid for crap his whole life, looking for something of value.

Interesting ask. Something for now and something for later. Freeman, interesting surname, a tribe that knows how to negotiate.

What would it take to pull Gregory Soto from the Tigers? a power lefty that can bump Mayza down a spot would be so huge for this pen.

What you described is not a competitor, its a child who does not care.

We have the 3rd best record in the AL LOL
..with a really soft schedule...LOL

They're in the first Wild Card spot, on pace for 92 wins, and 4 games ahead of where they were last year at this point.

Because they don’t have the uber-competitive Yankee mentality? I don’t see anyone doubting Freddie Freeman’s competitiveness when he’s out there giving hugs to his teammates and opponents.
