Ryu done for the season - pretty unfortunate
Can't wait to see how Manfred manages to screw up this one.
Ive decided to do as he suggested so I won’t have to read his arrogance anymore and his inability too see what he can do to make it better for himself here. He seems to have knowledge but just one of those guys that can’t get out of his own wayI didn't say "funny". And I never said any one particular bit of behavior was funny (or "fun", the actual word I used). I was pointing out that the hypocrisy of you crowing about ignoring everyone who offends your sensibilities while also continuing to make digs at them without prompting. People weren't paying attention to you so you decided to make a jab at them. And yet you have the audacity to say that everyone else is insecure or jealous or whatever your reason is.
No, you're not allowed to be a dick when you start things. People would gladly leave you alone if you didn't make yourself a giant target with the insufferable and condescending way that you present yourself. But you go out of your way to be as aggravating and infuriating as possible, then pretend to be all offended when everyone takes it badly as if it's not the most obvious thing in the world. But do go ahead and play martyr. It's always easy to tell who's actually a problem in a dispute because usually they're the ones that claim double standards and refuse to believe that anything they did crossed a line.
See? Look at how this paragraph drips with insulting, arrogant smugness. The "I'm so smart" and "I was right" and "you're all just mad jealous about how great I am" type comments and then you're baffled that people take it negatively. If you just stopped doing that people would probably be OK with you.
You'd think someone so gifted at prognostication would be able to see that acting like a haughty snob would end poorly. But here we are, I guess.
The required proof would be that you're not actually causing this through your behavior. Which isn't going to happen because this started way back when with you calling people "childish" and "cowards" and "defensive whiners" when you insulted them over disagreeing with your opinions and the manner in which you expressed them.
Almost every time you make a post, whether it's good, thoughtful analysis or just a spur-of-the-moment comment, there's a significant chance that said comment will be accompanied by either an unprompted shot at other posters or just some blatant chest-thumping and self-congratulatory egotism. If I didn't know better I'd say you were purposely engineering your posts to be as irritating as they can be. That you're hoping to draw people off-side by provoking them. Because when we go an extended period with nobody taking any of the bait, we get a post like the one I responded to where you, apropos of nothing, choose to call everyone out for not responding to you after previously calling them out for actually responding.
The observation doesn't offend people nearly as much as how you present it. This is what you've been told repeatedly and is the thing that you have chosen to routinely ignore. It is the heart of the issue and the cause of almost all of the disputes that arise around you. As long as you seem disinterested in addressing that you shouldn't be surprised that most others are going to have little desire to interact with you in a meaningful way.

Thanks for having me. A bunch of us go back and forth and sometimes it can get heated but he’s just to fragile for opposing views.Welcome to the dark side. I don't even know who we're talking to it's great![]()

I miss especially the early Pudge daysAll I know is that I am going to really enjoy watching Gabe snipe baserunners for the next 10 years. That transition into the cannon was the best we've seen around here in a while. Could he match Santiago's 3 gold glove's one day? I know Martin had a live arm at the start, too.

Yes looks intriguing. Not a hard thrower so we'll see. It's a crime he hasn't been called up yet. I assume they're more willing to try out the Beasley's Lawrence's and Gage's of the world because if they fail they can DFA them and who cares but once they try Hernandez he's too valuable to DFA so it'll be a 40 man spot used up if he has to go back down.
But the numbers he's been putting up he needs to be an option ASAP.

if hernandez does get called up. would he be the only active mlber that throws the screwball. . i know its a forgotten art not many left
AkaIs it an actual screwball? IIRC he calls it a change up and it has a change up grip, it just reacts weirdly the way he throws it
yeah that was my understanding, is the torque you have to put on your elbow makes it a very taxing pitch. its just funny cause i watched a couple youtube videos about the death of and why no one throws one. just a few weeks back now we may have one .It's forgotten because it's an extremely taxing pitch to throw that has been linked to arm damage.
As a piece on Fangraphs once said, "every pitch is bad for you." but the screwball's exceptionally unnatural movement is believed to cause extra strain and a higher frequency and rapidity of serious arm troubles
ShanerThese Jays threads are usually pretty reasonable. I have a bunch of people ignored from mostly insufferable hockey discussions over the years but I can't really remember ignoring anyone in a Jays thread. Perhaps I have and forgot or maybe it was from a hockey discussion so I've never seen their Jays takes.
anyone able to link up a tweet, this one to be specific. i hate stealing someone's take. but this guy just said it right

Hyun Jin Ryu's arrival literally and figuratively thrust the Blue Jays into a new era of contention. He pitched his ass off in 2020 and continued to compete even as his stuff waned and his body gave out. In his 49 starts for Toronto, the Blue Jays went 32-17. Ryu Forever.
