Sucks for him, getting fired this late after the season ended. While the offseason is just starting roster construction wise, a lot of the coach openings have already been filled.

Well, he does have a contract through 24/25 so he will get paid. Buys him time to see what is out there. But realistically once Jarmo was fired his chances of remaining HC really depended on an in house guy getting the job.

CBS not exactly in a big rebuild so not just going to keep him for the down year like Det did with Blashill when Yzerman arrived.

Not surprising, though he was put in a pretty tough situation with the Babcock incident.

Didn't do himself any favours though, with very questionable treatment of CBJ's key young players.

Yes but also no. He was an assistant that got promoted, he had already been there for two years. Let's not act like he started from scratch. Very different from say Jared Bednar who got rushed in from the AHL (not even from the Colorado affiliate) two months before the season started.

Tough scene for promising prospects in that organization like Fantilli

Babcock stealing their phones, to another head coach telling them a certain way to play.

He was there, but the roles and responsibilities of an assistant are much different than a head coach. His prep was likely much more specific.

I feel like he will grow from this. From an outside perspective, it seems like a really nice guy got put as a head coach and felt he needed to become a hard ass and kind of was bad at it, to the point he just pissed players off.

I think this was good for him and he will find a more balanced approach next time

I feel bad for the guy. He left Winnipeg just before the Maurice era ended because he saw no route to becoming a head coach there, took an assistant job in Columbus and looked like he had a shot at growing, then Babcock came in. Babcock gets fired, and Vincent gets dumped into the reins on a terrible team because someone had to do it. New GM comes in and fires him through no fault of his own, and he never even got a chance. He could be the HC in Winnipeg right now but his luck with timing is about as bad as it gets.
