Realistically should have been 4-1 if not for that Marky fluke goal allowed.

Also who knows what happens in the Avs game if not for that f***ing bogus no goal call. Outside of the dry spell and lackluster PP this was easily their best stretch at home.

At some point you've just gotta score goals and they ended up doing that. Also yeah the one that went in against was off Luke's face but they hit like 5 f***ing posts today lol

Well true, I've seen enough teams get shit goals in the regular season consistently and then get shit pumped in the playoffs. The process to me, at this point, is way more important than wins/losses. They'll be in the playoffs virtually at this point in my eyes. If they were winning games while getting caved, it'd be a cause of concern. That's partially what happened in 17-18 in the second half + Hall carrying. Then the 22-23 having that stupid ass lull around this time that year as well.

Assuming the numbers track over from moneypuck to evolving hockey (not quite the same but I use the live game ones for moneypuck bc they're more fun to look at even tho slightly less accurate), that would put luke up to 61.5% xGoals share. Good for 1st in the league among dmen

I think this is probably the best it's been since probably the last time Lemaire coached here? And even he had no ragtag no name games all over that roster.

It wasn't that bad in the DeBoer years, but the offense was just so incredibly inept after that first year.
It's the buy-in from the young forwards that makes it so sexy. Putting Jack on PK and getting him to like playing defense, leaning into Bratts already improving defensive play, getting all players to get sticks in lanes and be in position... And of course rebuilding and stabilizing the D corps.

The scoring and beautiful plays are nice but I'm even happier watching Kovacevic pesce and Siegs block shots.

When was the last time we blocked shots like this? Stevens and Odelein? Volchenkov?

I'm still a bit sick over that when I throw a Markstrom tantrum.

We did get a point in that game though, so it's not like we lost in regulation.

The Colorado game was the only one on the homestand where we didn't look good. I think the Colorado game was a well deserved shutout loss.

But we were pretty good the rest of the games. I actually thought today was our second weakest on the homestand. We were pretty dominant in the other 4 non-shutout games.

That Nico goal was very close to another goal he scored this season, just like that. Looked like he wouldn't have the momentum and space to make a move, but he does and deftly just sweeps it through the goalie. Really nice goal. Barn must fallen down by that one

Winning is great because it allows you to forget bullshit games like that.

The Toronto game pisses me off more than the Avs one. The Avs one to me is still kind of funny because of the whole shutout thing and them completely disappearing if they go down big for stretches.

I think the 2nd half of the Deboer 2012 season was really good, but yeah looks like the Devils were better in the back half of the Lemaire season. 1.7 xGA from around the 8th game of Lemaire on. Nobody's getting that low in this era of the NHL.

Hope you know I'm just messing around a bit haha, always love reading your thoughts on goalies!

Thought Markstrom stopped what he needed to stop tonight.
I appreciate the kind words!

I honestly figured the Hawks only had an expected goals of around 1.5 or so, but I guess between some of the posts hits (one on the first shift on a 2 on 1) and that flurry late in the 3rd they probably had more chances than we think.
