Now how come can make a save like that, but Markstrom hasn't done that since game 1 of the season in the 1st period?

Look, you know well I was very against Markstrom being acquired. With Stolarz having been available and his play this year it makes it even more of a bummer. Same with the doable return for Askarov, which we tried on anyway but got rejected because of having Markstrom already. So our goalie outlook isn’t as good as it could have been with a few weeks more patience

But one goal… we should be able to score 3-4 reliably like the Canes do.

Our lack of depth is being exposed. It is what it is.
I don't care, I'm not interested in any excuses for this guy.

But yeah, the two goals he allowed last two games were definitely bad.

Not the OT winner.

Markstrom doesn't bother me. I'm not counting on him to win a bunch of games carrying the team or be an elite goalie. He's an averagish starting goalie and the variance season to season on those guys is decently wide.

He lets in more clunkers than I was expecting, but his performance is largely in line with what I suspected on the whole. I wasn't expecting him to save 20 goals over expected or anything.

He made one of those in this exact game. You are being irrational right now
Bullshit

In this game? No he didn't.

He's faced nothing but routine shots, other than two posts and the goal against.

I don't understand you people.

Maybe I'm being irrational for blaming him on the goal, but he certainly did not make any really good saves that should have been goals this game.

They need better half ice 5v5 offense. Very clearly other teams strategy against us (and especially when at the Rock) is to sit back and be patient and stay behind the puck. If they were willing Devils can get an early goal they take teams out of that game. But too often the other teams scores first or pushes it deep where they can stay in that set up. This is a here depth scoring is needed
