British situation comedy series about a heavy-drinking curmudgeon who barely owns a bookstore. Pretty funny, worth checking out. 6 episodes per season, 3 seasons. I've watched the 1st season so far, hilarious. Hope the 2nd season is just as funny.

I used to drink with Dylan Moran--had no idea who he was till someone walked up and asked for his autograph--he signed it and grumbled and I asked him "what are you an ex-con or something" it was that kind of bar. He had no idea I did not know what he did for a living--he thought I just did not care. I had just moved to the UK and had never seen Black Books or anything else. He used to split his time between here in London and Scotland--last I heard he has retreated to scotland

I never heard of him either. And I never heard of Black Books in North America and it played about 15 years ago in the UK? I couldn't tell it was that old. I had to search it on Netflix last week after a friend told me about it. She also mentioned Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories on Netflix. Enjoying that right now too.
