What we don’t know is what future plans Cassels has. He is playing U-18 in Columbus. It is not like he is playing USHL. So, the first question I have is why? Is he not good enough to play USHL as an ‘06? Seems likely.

He isn’t NCAA committed. Is that because he is focused on potential OHL opportunities or, again, is he not strong enough to garner NCAA interest at this time?

Based on the competitiveness of the league he is playing in now, his stat line, and the fact he doesn’t have any future commitments lined up that are public, the sense I get is he is not a strong enough prospect to have signed anywhere at a more competitive level. That said, he is a goalie and their development timeline is vastly different to skaters.
