Creator of the WHL and later the CHL.
Did buy the Blues and almost move them.

One of the key people you could say, who literally shaped the landscape for hockey as whole as we know it today. From Junior to the NHL.

Hard to argue, almost anyone else has had as big an impact on as many people over many years in hockey in general..?

I think enough time as has past that any "hurt feelings" between hockey Canada and the NHL is water long under the bridge.

And a lot of committee members are ex-players, who we can imagine are really happy that a new league competition and eye-popping big contract has maybe do for them (correctly or not I really do not know, but does not sound a crazy assumption that it was good for them), not that many nhl owner of that era, if any, so that aspect is maybe nonexistent now.
