Not the sharpest defensive effort, but a good win none-the-less.

Nice to see the big boys continue with their string of offensive prowess. Nick Ritchie scored a goal!!

If we play like that vs Tampa, there will be some wounds to lick.

Thought the kids looked good. Rubins-Lilly was good except for the completely unneccesary pinch by Lilly. Can't be doing that Timmy.
Matthews is a super star but he always was even in his struggles early. Rielly's defensive play has been a pleasent surprise so far.

fun win.

pretty crazy how matthews manages to be effective with simmonds and bunting as his linemates. they're good but usually wouldn't see both on the same top line.

yep.
But he won’t continue getting chances 5 on 5 if Simmonds stays on that line.

Sloppy finish to an otherwise dominant game.

The big boys showed up tonight and picked up the slack.

Rubins looked good and Steeves didn't look out of place.

Good to see Ritchie finally break through.

Great first period, okay second period, pretty trash third period. Good game overall, good win.

Campbell let in some stinkers as well. Little concerning to me as he's let in 10 in the last 3 games. He's entitled to let in a few stinkers though, every goaltender does it throughout the season.

A win is a win and with the injuries and suspension to Spezza, I really can't complain. I watched it on my big screen instead of the usual monitor while I yap in the game thread.

Love my Leafs, for better or worse.

In other news, Tampa Bay was down 2 to 1 with 2 minutes left against the Habs and still won in regulation. Love seeing Montreal struggle so badly. LOVE it!

Score is a bit deceiving. Toronto was in control from the 1st. The 5-3 goal is a bit of an issue, but the goal with 0.5 seconds left means nothing. Sucks for Campbell's save percentage I guess.

This reminds me of Toronto in years past when they would score a couple goals in garbage time and make a game look closer than it was.

Nice response from the team.

The score is going to be deceiving because of that late-as-can-be goal. Good to see Ritchie notch his first goal as a Leaf. Fine enough introduction to the league for Steeves and Rubins too.

I could not feel worse about a win, that 3rd period was dog shit, they can't do that again.

You go up 5-1 you have to lock it down and they didn't.

A game that you go up 5-1 should not end 5-4

Very pleased to see Mo having some success in the D zone. He's having a pretty strong year supporting the overall success of the team with his efforts on the PK and denying the other team access to the Leafs zone ES. The day he signed, Oct 29 I think, and the reaction by his teammates, speaks volumes as to how he's valued in the room. Every team has a horse on the back end, and Rielly's ours. 20th OA in TOI at 24:11/game and now sitting tied for 5th in scoring for D.
