Best open ice hitting Leaf defenceman since....Yuskevich maybe? Komisarek before he fell apart?
Always so clean too. Hands and arms fully down, no upwards progression, no head contact, etc. Just kind of lines it up, turns himself into a brick wall, and let's people crush themselves into his body with their own momentum. It's impressive.

That's true, I mean notice how the other team just kind of takes it and gets up without getting too pissy? Shows just how clean and textbook those hits are. I like that he's not launching himself Trouba style to try to kill people, just eliminating them from the play.

This is playoff hockey at its best when its big and physical and everyone is finishing their checks.

New guys McCabe, Schenn and Accairi were built for this type of game.

Only precaution note is that they have to be more careful not to lose positioning and create opportunies for the opposition by going out of their way to make them.

Good thread idea. Hopefully we get a bunch from the Lightning series to add to this thread. We should have been on this from the start.

Jake McCabe, Luke Schenn and Noel Acciari were such key additions at the deadline.

Having Schenn there for guys like Jeannot, Maroon and Perry in round #1 made a difference. His fight with Jeannot was my favourite Leafs playoffs fight that I can remember.
