Better chance at becoming captain: Henrique or Larsson?

neither. at least so far both dont really exude captain material. but thats a combination of being young and green. i might give the nod to henrique because lars is more a quiet kenny jonsson kinda dman. admittedly too.

Not a fair poll. Larsson is a quiet kid who I am high on, but he is not captain material nor franchise defenseman.

Not accurate at all to say he's not a franchise defenseman. We don't know yet what his ceiling is. We're going to find out a lot about him this year...

I 100% agree...
It's way to soon. But I will say this, when former teammates are asked about Scott Stevens leadership they almost all say the same...He didn't talk much, he was quiet, his work ethic was unbelievable and he expected everyone to be the same, he led by example on and off the ice....

You don't have to be a talker to be a leader.

I voted for Larsson because I think his ceiling is higher.

I think it's ridiculous to say someone isn't "captain material" as an 18 and 19 year old. No kidding.

Larsson should work on becoming a everyday quality D man first, Hope he worked on that skating this summer and not his diplomatic skills. Better question is who will get the 2nd A this year.

think we had that question answered last year when Kovalchuk was out

HENRIQUE! THREAD OVER!

No but seriously, Henrique seems more likely. Not a knock on Larsson either though, just seems like Henrique seems more like someone I can see becoming captain as of right now.

As for who gets the A left by Kovalchuk, Greene and Zajac rotated it last year while Kovalchuk was injured. I'd say more than likely one of them will wear it. I wouldn't count out Zubrus getting it either.

A little too soon for this discussion let them prove themselves with consistency first.

I dont think last year answered anything...Zajac was having a miserable year. Zubie was out AH wasnt good.
Personally I would give it to DZ

Zajac and Greene rotated the letters when Kovalchuk was out

how can you say that that didn't answer anything? lol it doesnt matter how they played, honestly.

Henrique without a doubt. Brodeur even mentioned during the playoffs last year that Henrique was a vocal leader on and especially off the ice.

A lot of qualities that made Parise a great captain. 110% balls to the wall on every shift. Leave it all out there and others followed.

Both Adams are really vital for us this year. Henrique bouncing back and Larsson taking the next step will go a long way toward getting back to the playoffs this season...

I don't know, I really would love to see Zajac become captain after Sal leaves. For some reason I just feel he's one of those quiet guys that exudes a lot of respect from his teammates and think he would do fine in that leadership role.

Do you mean captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs, ultimately?

I voted for Henrique, but I think he'll follow Clarkie someday.

Frigging Dorothies are all going home.

I might be a little premature in saying this but to hell with it. I think Henrique will possibly be one of those players that whoever is in charge by then, will do whatever it takes to get him locked up. Lou might not be around anymore by that time but as long as he continues to improve, I think we'll be very accommodating to him.

Take the C off Sal...

Put it on Patty (he doesn't want it, but he's a team player), give Patty's A to Jagr and Kovy's A to Henrique.

Then when Jagr leaves, give his A to Lars... and when Patty retires, give his C to Henrique.

Everyone wins.
