taking Derby's comment to heart, what are the best/worst games you saw in person?

Best - 8-2 win in Detroit with Jacket Backers - Rick Nash Natural Hatty and a big win In DET

Worst - 9-1 loss at home vs (ironically) DET

Best: 2014 Round 1, Game 4
(Best Period might have been Game 6, 3rd period. Absolute chaos in the stands.)

Worst: 9-1 home loss to Detroit

Best: Game 4 win. AINEC.

Worst: Most losses to the Pens for obvious reasons. But my first ever Jackets game in Cbus in 2011 was worst performance. Jackets lost 5-0 to the Avs in the first game after the Jackets traded Carter. My dad fell asleep. The biggest cheer was when Jack showed up in a suit saying he was excited to play here.

Agree with RedStorm about game 6, too. The memory of both brings tears to my eyes. But, whether you consider game six a "good thing" or not, what makes me really sad is that nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing good has happened since in terms of results on-ice. We were do damn ready for... more of that. And instead...

I don't know worst. I recall 8-1 or 7-1 games against LA, Colorado and Boston in the early years. I remember a game I think against Chicago where it looked like we'd get the win and crazy typical Jackets stuff happened late - maybe they scored twice in the last minute or something like that? And of course I was seated near a typically obnoxious Hawks fan.

Then there was the year before the playoffs where the team made a huge late-season push, won their final home game then they showed (Colorado?) on the jumbotron, and the result wasn't what we needed to get in. That was an interesting sequence, even if it doesn't fit the parameters of the discussion.

Best would be game 2 of the 2014 playoffs - Calvert's double OT GWG

Foligno's GWG, 2009 game 4 and the 8-2 Detroit game are right behind it.

Worst - there have been a few really bad games over the years, but to be honest none stand out in my mind to the point that I care about them anymore. Now if you were asking for heartbreaking losses I have a few.

Best - without a doubt, Game 4 vs. Pittsburgh. It was one of those special moments where noise had feel. Maybe the most I've ever celebrated anything in very long time.

Worst - Game 4 vs. Detroit 6-5 loss series ender the first time the Jackets were in the playoffs. The ending of that game was just dreadful. The game was great, the crowd even better, it was just awful that the refs found it necessary to interject themselves into the game to call too many men. Another moment where sound had feel.

Best....probably the last game of 2012-13 against Nashville.

Worst...that would most likely be the last game of 2007-08, when the team played like hot garbage against St. Louis, capped up by that lardass Keith Tkachuk hitting the empty net (shorthanded) for his 500th goal. The booing was widespread due to the largely pathetic effort on the ice from the team, and then I got home in time to read a bunch of Blues fans crying over how "classless" it was to boo such a great achievement. No one in the home crowd cared that it was Tkachuk's 500th, just that it capped off a non-playoff season by watching the team going through the motions.

that game hurts for other reasons....our work convention was that week, I went to games 1-3...had AWESOME seats for Game 4...rented a car, we going to drive down from Cleveland go to game, then drive back to Cleveland afterwards to be back up by 6am for my assigned duties....day of was told that my attendance was "mandatory" at the evening event so wasn't able to go...my "mandatory attendance" was handing out drink tickets where I got to see my then roommate and my other best friend the entire game enjoying my seats and the best game of the series

I have to go with an 8-0 loss to the Bruins somewhere back in time.

Best was Game 2 of the 2014 playoffs - my buddy convinced me to go to Pittsburgh and get tickets from Stubhub that were surprisingly reasonable. Got seats 20 rows off the ice and Calvert scored right in front of us. You can see me and my friend for a split second on FSO when they are showing the Jackets spilling onto the ice. We are taunting the Pens fans around us who were less than hospitable most of the game. Was wearing a Dubinksy jersey and got called all sorts of horrible names walking back to the car. Awesome.

Worst was the Hawks game a few years ago when the Jackets played Chelsea Dagger after the Hawks scored a goal....at Nationwide!

Best - Like others game 4 vs Penguins.

Most Excited - Opener season 1 - especially with the flurry of goals early.

Worst - Wow not even sure, I know early on it seemed like the LAK would give us an annual 8-1 whooping. But tough to pin point just 1.

Best: game 4 against the Pens. Nothing can compare to the euphoric atmosphere. Runner ups: Finale against Nashville, beating Colorado for the first time in OT I believe (wayyyy back then).

Worst: Game against Pittsburgh (in 2010 I believe?), we gave up 4 goals in the first 10 minutes of the game so I left - plus the crowd was 70% Pittsburgh fans. Runner ups: Getting smacked by the Wings at home right after we torched them at their place, Opening Night this season...really there are too many crappy games that I've been to throughout this franchise's existence.

Best: Probably the Nashville game in 2013-13 where we almost made the playoffs.

Worst: Probably the Rangers game this year at the opener. Heartbreak city

Agree with both.

And I believe that was the game when the Pens fan rode the Zamboni between periods leading the Pens fans in cheers.

That was awful.

Best: game 4 of the 2014 playoffs

Worst: honestly, the game against Buffablow last month is up there. Also, 2 years ago when they lost to the Hawks at home with, like, 2 seconds left in the game.

Best: Game 6 vs. Penguins. The near comeback was an unreal experience.

The worst: Game 6 vs. Penguins. Created so much false hope and disappointment over next 2 years+.

Worst, Geez there are so many.... zambonigate jumps to mind. This year I saw SJ put 4 in net in the third so that one's fresh.

Best, Nash breakaway against the Canucks to win in OT in like 06 was good. Probably the NYR/CBJ linebrawl to end the game in 02 or 03 maybe is my fave though, it's what got me hooked to going to games.

I agree with the Nashville game being at the top. So much momentum going into that game, and somewhat fitting that we came up a point short.

Regarding Tkachuk, it was a kick in the teeth to see that ****** score #500 and get to celebrate on our ice. If I was the only one booing him then I'm disappointed.

best would've been game 2 of the 2014 playoffs. was fortunate enough to be in Pittsburgh for it. I'd watched a lot of intense playoff overtimes, but never one I was actually invested in and certainly not in person.

worst would probably be a game against the devils in 10-11 or 11-12. It was was the worst I've ever seen two teams play and the single most boring game I've ever seen. runner up would be any loss to Pittsburgh that lets their 'fans' drive home to Dublin, Hilliard, Marysville, Pickerington, etc happy.

One more vote for Game 4. Game 6 was bonkers though, when Tyutin scored I thought the world might end.

Worst would have to be the 2010 game against the Pittsburgh. I forget the final score but they hung at least 7 goals on the Jackets. 19,000 in the building and probably 12,000 of them were Pens fans. That night one of the little kids they used to let ride the Zamboni had on a Crosby sweater. What a disaster. That was the same season they played Chelsea Dagger in Nationwide after Chicago scored

That wasn't a kid, it was a grown ass man. I know, because I rode to the game with him lol.* That game was the only game I had ever left early and I think it was late in the first or early second when they went up by 4 or 5. Another buddy and I went to Frog Bear or whatever it was called then.

*Hi Wayne!

In his defense he is from Pittsburgh and lives here, he is a true Pens fan. They should never of let him on the zamboni with that sweater though.

Best:

Game 2 of the pitts/CBJ series double OT....after being down 3-1 and in their barn....wanted to swim in the damn allegheny afterwards :yo:
(that 8-2 joe louis trip was pretty awesome too)

Worst: the pens fan riding the zamboni debacle game, (left before it was over to avoid a fight)/and that 9-1 game against the wings when they made us bleed
