Am I crazy to think that it might be Bergeron for Boston? It seems like they have a bunch who had cups of coffee elsewhere (Bourque, Shore, Brimsek, Bucyk, etc.)

Some others (assuming active players are eligible:

Buffalo: Perreault
Chicago: Mikita
Dallas: Benn or Lehtinen
Los Angeles: Kopitar or Doughty
Vancouver: Henrik (& Daniel?) Sedin
Washington: Ovechkin

winnipeg/atlanta is either toby enstrom or bryan little?

boston is milt schmidt?

calgary/atlanta is… hakan loob?

columbus, no idea

dallas/minny is craig hartsburg?

there may in fact be no such thing as a career oiler

I think it is Bergeron. Though if Shore didn't play those ten games for the New York Americans it's him (assuming we're not counting his WCHL/WHL experience either). Dit Clapper might get an argument from old timers. Schmidt missed 3 years due to the war but Bergeron still outpaces him in PPG while being a defensive force. But Bergy still has the accolades IMO.

I'll take care of the low-hanging fruit... Phoenix/Arizona Coyotes would be Shane Doan. Kinda confusing how that franchise hangs together with the old Winnipeg team, though. I believe Dale Hawerchuk got his jersey in the rafters for the Phoenix franchise... Thomas Steen comes to mind depending on how one looks at it.

LA Kings... would that be Dave Taylor as we speak? (Kopitar and Doughty if they remain Kings for the rest of their careers will obviously be the ones to choose from here)

Either Slavin or Aho for Whalers/Canes. Finding a retired player would require quite the dredging, though.

EDIT: dear god, it has to be Chad LaRose, doesn't he?

I'd take Schmidt and Clapper over Bergeron.

PPG isn't really a valid argument when comparing players from era's that different.

I can't see McDavid playing for another NHL team (but you never know). If he retired right after these playoffs, he would be EDM's answer. I'm sure he will be in time.

i mean i can’t imagine ovechkin or crosby ever playing for someone else but the thing about assumptions though, i also never in a million years expected brodeur, alfredsson, or modano, or for that matter marleau to ever move on either

or lundqvist, i swore chara would retire a bruin, and so on

Wow, is it difficult to find an exclusive Seal! Not counting guys who only played a handful of games, here are candidates where the Seals were the only NHL team they played on but they also had some games in the WHA:

Morris Mott - 199 games 18 goals
Mike Laughton - 189 games, 39 goals
Don O'Donoghue - 125 games, 19 goals
George Pesut - 92 games, 3 goals
Joe Szura - 90 games, 10 goals
Ron Huston - 79 games, 15 goals
Joe Hardy - 63 games, 9 goals
Gary Kurt - 16 games in goal

Players who only appeared on the Seals and never in the WHA:
Wayne King - 73 games, 5 goals
Tim Jacobs - 46 games, 0 goals
Paul Shakes - 21 games, 0 goals
