Tonight with 7 seconds left in the game, down by 1 the refs decided to call probably the most absurd offside I have ever seen on the Oilers.

The puck didn't even reach the blueline.. We may not have scored on the play, but for real **** like this can't happen. We have offside reviews, so why not let it go and review afterwards? I don't get it.

Pretty sure other fans don't want the refs helping the Oilers finish as low as possible either, but they sure are doing there part.

If something like this happens in the playoffs I can't imagine the uproar. Reffing has been so borderline this year it's unbelievable. I hope a call like this doesn't decide a game of importance for any team in the post season.

McDavid makes an excellent play to keep the puck in and he wasn't impressed..

I like how the play continued for a few seconds before they blew their whistles. Un-****ing-believable.

Why don't they just let the play happen? If somehow the they score Ana would just review it and the call would be right in the end... I just don't get it

That's as close as the puck got to the blueline. Just another ridiculous call against the Oilers, nothing new here.

I'm not even worried about our result in the game, but with the ability to have an offside video review, why would you even blow the whistle on a close call? Ridiculous.

I just hope this doesn't happen when there is something more on the line for a playoff team.

Several Oilers games decided by calls. At least 3. Probably 5. Maybe 7.

We wouldn't have won all of them...maybe none.....but we would have more points....no doubt about it.

On top of those games you have the usual interference, game management cluster**** officiating.

Saw this call as it happened. One of the worst offside calls I've ever seen. And at the worst possible time.

Saw Hall said it was a ******* joke, and I agree

wow a missed offside happens every game.... no one is perfect

You don't understand. This wasn't a play that was "inches", it was a good foot and change at least and the ref was right there with an unobstructed view.

The reffing at the end of games has been absolutely horrific for the Oilers.

I really wonder if there's something going on. It's major, game changing calls that have been screwing the Oilers out of many points this season. Direct your complaints to the officials union when the Oilers get yet another high draft pick this season.

There are people already trying to defend this?

Didn't realize the refs had accounts here.

Terrible call. It was a spectacular play by McDavid to set up an odd man rush at the end of a game. Ludicrous for a linesman to make that call on a reviewable play with such little time left.

1. No, it doesn't.

2. They aren't as obvious as this one.

3. They aren't as important as this one.

We'll take another top draft pick though. It actually works out better when players can vent their anger at garbage officiating and not each other.

And the linesman that had the clear view of it does not bother to waive it safe . This league is a utter joke, never in my life will the NHL ever see another penny of my money on nothing . It's a league wide problem 0 accountability for the Refs or linesman so they call the games how they want to.

Wasn't it just last game where the interference call on Broissoit was not called where it would have been consistently called elsewhere? This has happened three games in a row on blatant mistakes.

Exactly. Let it play out and review later.

What's lost in this is what a sick play that was by McDavid to keep the puck in. Boy was he on in the 3rd period.

yeah, this is the ultimate issue I have with it. Missing an offside happens (i guess) but with 7 seconds left that linesman had to know he was ending any chance of the Oilers scoring there.

Never mind the fact that you are supposed to see the puck over the line to call it offside and there is zero chance he did considering it was a foot onside. Also never mind the fact that in such a tight game they gift Anaheim with PP with 3 minutes left on the softest call in the game.

If I were generous I might say that maybe he thought something else was the puck. A part of a skate or stick?

Whatever, the season's over and we're not making the playoffs. I was hoping we wouldn't finish DFL but it's looking less likely.
