Good songs and band was fun to see live, but both the original Doug and the replacement lead singer …whoah….real pieces of work. I last saw the present lineup at Rock the Lake in Kelowna in 2018. He opened his remarks by welcoming everyone “to this shithole (Kelowna)”. Was promptly booed and had to spend the intro before the next song apologizing and backtracking. A real unique twist to that time honoured rock band tradition of doing a shout out “Hello How’s everyone in -insert place name here- doing tonight? Lol.

I caught them in Wells, BC many moons ago and Tomcat Prowl was probably my favourite.

Oddly enough, I just watched that 2nd documentary in the last couple months. Very entertaining but didn't know Doug Bennett was basically an a**hole but some of that might have been due to the financial burden he had because of the recording contract a lot of artists were saddled with back in those days.
They also played in the bar of my very small hometown in the early 90's but I didn't know about it until the next morning or I would definitely have went. My wife is sick of that story.
Although I liked a lot of their songs I gotta say my favorite song they did was a party song cover of "Nobody Buy Me" that I wore out my cassette of "Music For the Hard of Thinking" playing.
It was a great cruising song to play with the windows down.

There isn't one for me. They were my sure fire radio station changer. Any of their tunes come on and I'm changing channel. Huey Lewis and the News were another one. Just not my thing. Doug and the Slugs could be the cover band for Hell. Imagine not being able to listen to anything else ever. my gawd
