OT: Best days to go to La Ronde?

I had planned going to La Ronde today with my family for a while now. However, my daughter got extremely sick last night and today, so we couldn't go.

Now I took this monday off thinking that it would be the least crowded day of the week (the less people, the better hehe). I may take wednesday this week off, but it will cost me a good chunk of money. Other than that, we can go on the weekend, but I imagine it's the most crowded period of the week.

So I'm asking you, is it worth to take a day off during the week and risk losing money? Or can I go during the week-end and still enjoy my day?

I would go during the weekend but buy a vip pass? You know the ones that can get you to the beginning of the lines. I think there expensive but its better than taking a day off work.

- The first thing you should know is that it is EXTREMELY over priced for what you're getting. An adult pass is 55.99$. For a family of four? Nearly 200$.

- God forbids you go on a sunny day. The average wait in line is between 45 minutes to 2 hrs. For a ride that will last less than 40 seconds.
- Have you ever heard of "People of Walmart"? Well La Ronde is the equivalent; on steroids. You will not believe what people are willing to walk around with. It's pretty revolting.
- YOU CANNOT BRING YOUR OWN FOOD. Your only alternative is to leave it in your car and get stamped so that you can leave, go eat, and come back in. Should you choose to purchase food inside, be aware that every single food stand is exorbitantly over charging for mediocre to horrendous food. I am shocked that they are allowed to do this.
- Water fountains. There are some. But they are carefully hidden. This to me, is unacceptable. I should not be "coerced" into purchasing your 13$ bottle so I can get water (even if it's free refills all day).

So in essence, I would opt to do something else. Like the botanical garden instead (with the Mosaiculture) or the Insectarium, or hell, the water slides in Bromont.

This. Ive been to La ronde once, I told myself after that im never going back there. But yeah, I guess it's hard when you have kids because they love this stuff.

Never ever EVER go on a sunny day like habscup said. Your best bet is to go when its announcing some rain (in the afternoon if possible), instead of waiting 3 hours you wait 3 minutes. On those days go the earliest you can in the morning where you can literally do anything without waiting in line. The only bad thing is that it can actually rain, but in the end since you don't wait as much it's absolutely worth it.

It used to be awesome. Definitely be aware of the waiting lines as they've always been notoriously ridiculous. It's not worth it.

Yeah I'd rather not go and do something else.

The last time I went was 3 years ago. We came right when it opened. It was amazing from 11am to 1pm, no waiting lines no where. But then the place really filled up....!

At about 2pm, we really wanted to do this one ride (can't remember the name though) but there were lineups everywhere. We decided to wait, it lasted about an hour under scorching sun. And then, woohoo 30 seconds of fun...

- You can bring water bottles and snacks.
- There are no rides to pay for unless you want to do the slingshot or catapult. Roller coasters are free.
- Obviously on a nice day there is a wait. Any amusement park or water water park is crowded on a nice day.
- Water bottles and food costs the same as the Bell Centre.

La Ronde is 20 times more enjoyable for your kids than the freaking botanical gardens or insectarium.

To the person asking the question:
If you can, take the day off work and go on a day that is a bit fresh and cloudy. Maybe a chance of rain. Lines will be about 5 or 10 minutes rather that 45 or an hour.

1975. Saturday, lost hot day in August. 3-6 PM. Do the rides, especially the wild mouse, the so called 'death' ride for good reason, then the Zipper, have a Pogo with moutard. Not more than a 5 minute wait ever, even on weekends. Then head to the Spos Mets 8-11 PM game at Jarry Park for a great 9 innings and more than a few beers and dogs.

And, the bonus, no internet, Spos to watch, summer girlfriends, and no one thought about Habs from the parade to end of training camp. Even the first few games of the season were kind of: "Oh yeah, the Habs are back." Like, "Oh yeah, the leaves are turning."

Sammy Pollock dealt with things all summer so we didn't have to. We Delegated.

La Ronde is ridiculous, you can tell it's owned by six flags now because their goal is 100% profit and they don't give a **** about the people anymore. Who can afford to go there now? And an even better question, how the hell do all those trailer park people afford to go there? When I used to go to La Ronde I felt like I stepped into another country full of white trash.

Was working there 10 years ago just before they sell it to six flags.
saw the begginning of changes with six flags...

then i left and returned this year after nearly 8 years without seeing this place.

What a freaking drop-off....first i got 4 children, with my wife it cost nearly 300$ to get in. THAN, once Inside, its nowhere near what it use to be. Half the places you can just walk around are closed. cant go near the lake anymore also.

Games for stuffed animals are mainly closed, wich to me was important for the hell of fun looking of the place.

Honestly the day cost something like 500$ and we left around 19:00

The kids enjoyed it but honestly they prefer those Amusement Spectaculaire thing that go from city to city during the summer....they can do their favorite rides over and over again for like 25$ for the week-end

Been there once when I was a kid. I think we managed to do like 7-8 rides in the whole day, but it was worth it. Then again, I love this kind of stuff, so I didn't really mind the long waiting lines.

I went there like 5 or 6 times in my life. Three of those times were on Tuesdays or Wednesdays so there were no waiting lines. But damn, I still remember how it was so expensive. Just getting there with all the traffic was terrible. It was almost $50 for the entry when I was 11 years old and you needed to add another 10 to $15 if you wanted to eat something there. That's a lot of money for a family. And I didn't even count the parking which is $20...

I enjoyed it as a kid (or teenager, whatever) but I don't think I'll go there anytime soon. I prefer the Bell Centre.
