Best career save % on the PK ... WHERE IS THE STAT?

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

I've been informed there ain't no such stat.

Wa?

We hear -often - how the goaltender is the team's #1 PKer.

So give us the goods.

What goaltender has been most effective on the PK?

(PLEASE F OFF with regular shift numbers unless contrasting them with the pk.)

(I read this isn't a tracked stat?!)

In 2025... let's spill the beans... or,... start counting them!

NHL.com tracks this going back to 1998. Here are the "all-time" leaders, minimum 200 games:

Ideally the numbers would be adjusted for the scoring environment. It probably doesn't have a huge effect though.

my first thought was one of surprise that Hasek is a meager ninth place.

Then I realized that this is from the age of 34 until 43. Essentially the second half of his career, and I was reminded of stats Ive seen that start in 1967 expansion and Howe somehow still factors into them.

Wow.

As usual, a pretty weird mix of names with this stat...doesn't seem to work out that well no matter how it gets sliced up.

At the top, a big guy that wasn't technically impressive. In the 3-hole, a superb technician who lacked a high-end "plus" because of his athleticism. Backstrom and Legace...woof.

An all timer in late career Hasek. A fairly-likely-all-timer in Shestyorkin. And a top 15-20 guy in Luongo.
