Line Combos: bern's suggests Jan 2023 going forward, pro tempore

Games vs Stars + Wild entertaining, but we need to work smarter.
CONSTANT shifting of lines = no good

After some thoughts, I have this figured out.
Pls note:
1. this is our regular lineup, not injuries
2. this is for the time being, not addressing upgrades as they may happen
3. I am hoping, time permitting, to post a major thread this w'e -- no time for that now
the below will be modified accordingly.

comment:
On offense I don't give a flying or a stationary fig, team should proceed on basis of what works.
I generally prefer, on defense, to play handedness, only so it is not necessary to reach over, and it makes it easier to grab the puck vs the boards + keep in play.

Top 3 lines should be almost even time, w/signif only slightly less time for line 4.
Keep everyone fresh/busy.

L1. Remember, we got Goodrow in part to shotgun cover bread, esp for playoffs. We might as well get started on that now. Also, Good is better on FOs than Zib, and Z is righty, so natural RW. Panarin is lefty shot prefers RW, eff him, won't kill him on defense to play correct handed.
This line has everything.

L2. bern equation of facilitator/driver of play/finisher scorer realized, tho there is some overlap
Tro = solid pivot/facilitator chipping in tallies, CK speed + beast factor gets us into offense zone, chips in. Krav also a bit of it all but flashes he can pot them for this line.
bern was right, we should have played/developed Krav way earlier and including trying him out at pivot
he looks like he could be 2nd coming of Jean Ratelle [not as good, but in that vein] and in off season, that experiment should take place.

L3
Kid line. says it all

L4
Prefer the 3 I named, I could see Vesey + GR spelling relief here and there entire lineup.

bread will not wait until last min to be moved b'c it will be too embarrassing for him not to get an offer/esp anywhere near his current 11+m. He surely can do math and gets there is a rigid cap and he is not >>>>>>>>>> multiple team youth. Howev, when he relents is not clear.

If Kane goes to Buf, or stays Chi, and we can get multiple 2nds w/signif cap relief saved, let him go.
Otthmann is on the way.


D pairings
I wanted to move Trouba, nothing vs him, early on. He will go once his nmc->ntc
til then, we have to move him to 3rd pair

We also MUST, like it or not, deal Lindgren for cap relief = picks/cheaper, moveable futures
maybe Lindgren + 2024 1st to Oil for Broberg elc + Oil 2023 1st

then need Robertson for sure and Broberg if above done to fit LD, in advance of Scanlin here competing next season

I will say there's left field, and then there is so far way out of LF...

I consider what I said in the ballpark.

Kid line needs to stay, for time being.
Bread will be gone no later than end of his deal, possibly before.
When that happens, options incl. possible KK moving up.
But now we KNOW kid line works

On offense, no prob
On defense, need to acknowledge + of correct handedness
Also, factually true Goodrow better for FOs

so not nonsense
if we are going by what is objective over purely subjective opinion

time and a place for everything

IF IF IF reality did not require we move Lindy, THAT would be dif
but getting back to yielding to cap and selling now to max value returned
that means Fox gets a new partner

if we are objective, we see Harpur as a slightly slower, bigger version of Lindgren who balances nicely with Fox for clear the crease duties

Depending on opponent can give Broberg/Robertson mo mins on 1st pair w/Fox which will help accelerate development at NHL and reduce growing pains.

You COULD put him 2nd line swap out w/Kreider, but I think this is mo effective.

bread gone not now not final yr so roughly 2-3 yrs.
KK spot in top 6 is then, if not before, ditto Chytil

I am presently not allowed to post there b'c 1 mod -- and he shall remain nameless so there will be no retaliation -- wrongly excommunicated me from there. He knows who he is. This was when I was saying, CORRECTLY, that it would not hurt NY, w/few resources then, to experiment w/Boo Nieves as pivot betw Kreider + Zib. 99+% here agreed w/my right to make that suggestion, tho many fewer thought it was a good idea. Howev, literally a handful of posters here were adamant I relent, and this na'er do well [for lack of more vulgar vernacular] played up to their demands, abused his authority, demanded I capitulate, and we all know bern has diamond + balls, forget brass, and never NEVER capitulates. So I was removed privileges for that thread.

If/when that is lifted by powers that be [feel free to request same in reply here] I will consider to go there.

I have no time to deal with this now.
After they give me 2 Nobel Prizes and I am worth a gazillion dollars down the road, maybe.

was hoping here to see Fil w Bread

Laf and Kakk could blend with Zib
and for their bunch of games recently, Troch/Kreider/Vesey were effective

Mika is a Selke caliber defensive center and Goodrow is just a guy

He hasn't I am saying if same line as righty Zib should use same handedness for RW = better defense. Goodrow good at FOs, better than Zib. Bread at LW process of elimination.

Fair ?, let me remind.
Goodrow is very useful and beyond useful, NECESSARY as long as we have Panarin.
So he goes nowhere unless we have done EVERYTHING else and are still a bit short.

Lindgren, we love, but he is theoretically surplus.
He is LD
Not adding a Broberg for cheap, we have Robertson now and likely Scanlin later to promote.
If we were not super critical for cap that would be different.
Be honest, admit bern is right, and we are.

We are getting 3.4+ m returned dead cap.
We get another 2m ish cap from league increase
We save a tad under 1m by replacing Halak w/Garand elc

the guys we need to move have full nmc w/control

we need $$ for Chytil at least 3.75 x 4
stopgap $ for LaF, KK a yr away
some others,

but
we need to do KAM 5.75 x 4 or better
if we don't do that now, he will cost more later

So you see, we don't have a choice
