Has this guy not been brutal this series?
In 5 games here are the awesome stats that he's racked up:
Goals - 0
Assists - 0
Points - 0
+/- - +2
SOG - 7
PIM - 10

His penalties more than anything are killing the team. In the prior rounds at least he was putting up a good amount of points to offset his stupidity. Now he's doing nothing but hurting the team.

He's had a lot of terrible penalties that have killed momentum in this series. There's no one to replace him with though so hopefully he gets out of it.

If memory serves correctly, he hasn't scored since Game 1 against the Pens.

He lacked discipline during the regular reason and unfortunately this behavior has continued throughout the playoffs. He took a few bad untimely penalties against Philly in the first round and has lost his composure in this series.

He's been AWFUL. I find myself yelling at the TV every time he's on the ice lately.

He's due for ANYTHING positive at this point.

he's been the weak link on the line. Brass and Zucc have been great, Pou has been dragging the line down with his haphazard play.

If he could ever get his head screwed on right he'd be the perfect depth player. Dumb penalties has always been the knock against him.

Pouliot's spot in front of the net draws him more attention, especially when the Rangers contact between a Ranger and another team's goalie has caused an injury to that goalie.

However, with quality and equitable officiating the Rangers, including Pouliot, take fewer penalties.

There have been a lot of upsides to adding AV to the coaching staff of this team, bt one major setback is that players like Pouliot and Kreider can perpetually take idiotic penalties without repercussion.

With Torts as coach he would've been sitting.

That said, we are doing very well by all accounts. They just need to somehow get across to him how to play with energy while not being an idiot.

I'd consider replacing him on that line if there was a better option. I've always kinda thought that he was riding Brass and Zucc's coattails, and he hasn't even been doing that lately.

But yes, he's been dreadful in the playoffs

With so many low hockey IQ players (According to these boards) it's amazing we are a win away from reaching the finals.
Yes Bickell has 1 goals in 5.5 games and he plays with Toews and Kane...
Not saying Pouliot is Bickel but he certainly plays a hard game.

easy to say he is bad:Who is available to replace him and play better?
Miller, Lingberg.

Yeah he really needs to pick it up. He's still on the forecheck pretty good but he's playing too emotional. He gets in a good zone when he skating and reading plays, not just reaching all over the place.

In fact the whole Zuccarello line has been off since Brassard left. This is the 3rd straight game now back as a threesome. Hoping to see what we saw from them in the Pitt series.

It's not that simple though, is it?

Kreider took that brutal penalty at the start of game 5. 4 points later he and Stepan have willed the team to an (ultimately futile) comeback.

Torts behind the bench, Kreider doesn't see ice the rest of the game.

if Kreider hadnt made such a massive rookie trip on Subban, we might have won the game.

Its great that he netted 4 points, but in hindsight it was Kreiders folly that put us back 1-0, from which we never really recovered.

Its very easy to dabble in what if's though, unfortunately they dont matter.

Everyone just stay out of the box
