Jakob Lilja, Joni Ortio and Matt Frattin have been playing for Barys for a while now. Lilja also keeps turning down invites to Team Sweden.

Tedenby have declined invites to Team Sweden for 10 years. At age of 31 he movies to Minsk. Could be a future Belarussian.

Anyone else?

All the players above would be massive reinforcments, or perhaps im overating them?

Kazakhstan:

Nigel Dawes - Curtis Valk - Matt Frattin
Nikita Mikhailis - Roman Starchenko - Jakob Lilja
Kirill Panyukov - Arkadi Shestakov - Pavel Akolzin
Kirill Savitsky - Dmitri Gurkov - Alikhan Asetov

Viktor Svedberg - Jesse Blacker
Valeri Orekhov - Darren Dietz
Olle Alsing - Eric Martinsson

Joni Ortio
Nikita Boyarkin

Forgot Alsing and Martinsson in my above post. 2 players who is not on Team Sweden rader.

I wonder how far this team could go in a WC. QF? Semifinal?

There are quite a lot of big ifs. Yes, if Tedenby stays in Minsk until he is 35 maintaining his current level and is willing to play for Belarus and the current regime is still in power he could do so. But the likelihood of all that taking place is not particularly significant.

Ortio has represented Finland a bunch of times at all levels so he is de facto not an option. That's why I was slightly surprised Barys extended him in the first place.

Frattin is past his prime and legitimately not good (not like he ever was very good) and Dawes is slowing down so they will probably retire before some of these guys even become eligible.

At the end of the day, this is still the team with no NHL talent whatsoever. It could maybe beat Latvia or Slovakia on a good day but that's about it.

Frattin is pretty good, not saying he is super good, but enough to help Kazaksthan a bit.

Dawes is old but still has 24 points in 27 games in a good DEL league. I think he can keep up 2-3 more years.

BELARUS

Prince - Sharangovich - Protas
Alistrov - Kodola - Sushko
Klimovich - Usov - Drozdov
Demkov - Pare - Platt
Stas, Feoktistov

Solovyov - Bailen
Kolyachonok - Khenkel
Falkovsky - Sapego
Korobov - Lisovets

Taylor
Shostak
Kolosov

I guess a player here and there could be switched....and different positions...Protas is said to be a center but play RW in Capitals, its a role he can take.

Many good players. Even without future Tedenby, Almqvist...heck even Klinkhammer...

Actually its scary good....

The only player that can realistically be naturalized is Almquist, and I'm kinda certain it will happen until spring. Rest of them need minimum of extra 3 years in Minsk and I don't see it happening.

And I think Dawes is done with Kazakhstan now that they failed to qualify for Olympics.

The funny thing is that Almquist is gonna play Channel One Cup for Sweden that starts in a couple of days...

Great to hear, hope he will turn down potential invite in spring to switch colors.
