I wasn't looking forward to this because sequels made decades later are rarely (if ever) good, but this... actually looks promising?

It's directed by Tim Burton, scored by Danny Elfman and written by the creators of Wednesday. It also has Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara reprising their roles, with Jenna Ortega and Willem Dafoe joining them.

I'm looking forward to this one especially after hearing they only used practical effects to give it the same look and feel as the first movie. Michael Keaton looks great as Beetlejuice again......

I hadn't heard that. That's fantastic. Come to think of it, the trailer does feature what looks to be an actual scale model (not CG) town and that's probably partly why it evoked the original film for me. I wish that more movies would use models and practical effects as much as possible, especially when they're sequels to movies made without CGI.

Smooth, not surprised that Ortega is playing in this. Perfect movie for her.
I was telling my wife last night that they basically had no choice but to cast Jenna Ortega. How could they not cast her in this? It's just perfect for her.

That was one of my first thoughts as well. Slightly aged, but it's perfect for the character. Looks like he hasn't missed a beat!

If they play into it like they did with Ash in the Evil Dead series it could work out. Still blows my mind that the original movie was rated PG. I miss the 80's

my first thought was maybe it pre-dated the PG13 rating, but it was actually implemented 4 years prior in 1984. The 80's were a special time indeed

Good luck getting a pg-13 movie these days where a character says "Whore house".

I watched it earlier today and it was bloody good. A quality sequel with a very creative storyline.

The only negative is that there are multiple storylines and it felt rushed trying to end them for the main one, but besides that, if you loved the first one, you will love this one.

My wife and I went to see it yesterday and its a really fun movie. It was great to see all the returning characters and the afterlife scenes look awesome. Fans of Beetlejuice will enjoy this one....

Saw it last night. I enjoyed it. Reminded me of Top Gun Maverick in that it paid homage to the original, but still stands out as a movie of its own without being too reliant on nostalgia.

I would give it a 7 out of 10. Not too dissimilar in quality to the 1st one, although the 1st one does have that rewatchable charm to it.

We watched it today. Good enough but i wish they commited to either:

The ex-wife or the ghost guy. With both of the thread lines it feelt a little thin.
