Mackinnon had 63 points his rookie year, then 38, 52 and 53 the next three seasons. Wish I was around to see the threads about how much of a bust he must have been.

Bedard will be a superstar. Just might take a few years while he waits for some cavalry to come.
Patrick Kane after 2 seasons: 162 GP, 142 P (0.87ppg)

Bedard in his 2nd season, so far: 86 GP, 74P (0.86ppg)

Nearly identical scoring pace

Bet that Kane bum went nowhere...

Different scoring environment, but Kane had a MUCH better team.

It’s simple. He needs to start putting pucks in the net. More notably, he needs to get more that 1 sog per game.

Man....I'm gonna try and be nice here....but also....i can't help but express how i feel....

Bedard's recent comments...and just his overall body language during this slump....I'm just not liking this at all. Its a major red flag IMO. I mean.....has this kid never had to face any shred of adversity before in his time as a hockey player? He seems so hopeless...as if he's lost all his confidence and doesn't know what to do now. Its just like....dude....are you really this soft? A little bit of adversity hits and now all of a sudden you're a wreck mentally and can't seem to shake it off? Like i get it....ur coach sucks, the team sucks, but man.....you need to forget about that stuff and worry about what you can control. You have SUPREME talent....focus on your game, remain confident, understand the process, and get to work. Work as hard as you ever have in your life on ur craft, and ignore the noise. I know he's still a kid, very young and its easier to sit there as an adult and act like he should be tougher than this.....but idk....I'm just very taken back by his recent behavior combined with what he's been saying lately. Sounds like he's MISERABLE. Sounds as if he's lost all hope. Its very concerning. You gotta be tougher mentally than this. Hopefully he grows out of it or else we may have a big problem moving forward. Another thing to consider is how things will snowball through the media and what not as soon as word gets out that you're depressed/sad/miserable/dejected/lost all confidence. Not exactly the kind of attitude that's gonna keep distractions away. If anything the pressure is only going to double.

He was in better spirits than I expected after a piss poor ending to that homecoming game in Van when he was interviewed on after hours for HNIC. He should be fine.

Kid is on an Island. They put a terrible team around him in Regina too. Kid hasn’t really gotten any help around him at all other than playing for Canada in WJC/WC

I’ve honestly been surprised at how well Bedard has handled this slump with so much maturity and poise considering he age and pressure on him.

Side note: I 100% guarantee that he scores today.

Jack Hughes wasn't considered generational.
Again, very few of those around so being a notch below Sid/McDavid isn't really a slight.
Correct. I didn't remember just how good Bedard's Draft season was. There was a reason for the hype.

It does seem like goal numbers have ticked up in not just the nhl but also the chl, he put up video game numbers but there were a few guys on pace for like 60-70 goals, believe Lardis is/was one

McKenna has been hyped for 26 draft since last year. Tavares the same back in the day when he got the exceptional status to play in the OHL.

Bedard's draft season with WHL and WJC combined was pretty much generational, it's not like guys are scoring 70 goals at 17 years old.

Im really surprised how poorly his shot has translated. I've said it before but for some godforsaken reason (money) he switched from the Bauer he used his entire junior career to his current Sherwood right before entering the NHL, and I know it sounds stupid but I can't help but wonder if that plays a role. Bauer and Sherwood sticks have completely different feels.

Bedard hasn’t been given a lot for linemates, but he also hasn’t shown much this year. Generational talents once in a while show something that give you an indication of the potential. Kane did it in his early years, etc and he wasn’t generational. I haven’t seen much from Bedard to suggest that kind of talent. I’m not saying he wont be a great player but I don’t think he’s the talent we all hoped for.

He showed a lot of that skill last season

If the Sherwood is the case, he needs to pull a Brett Hull and use a Bauer.

Right. Tough to do this year while LR is trying to turn him into Bergeron.

Celebrini and Michkov both on fire taking the league by storm certainly isn’t helping this Bedard situation either.

It really is like a perfect storm of all things going wrong this season for 98, a sophomore slump from hell.

It’s going to be interesting to see how he responds to all this pressure and attention. Things might get a whole lot worse too so he’ll have to be ready to deal with the noise. Stay strong kid. As bad as it may seem now, this can all be a learning experience that eventually becomes a positive development in the end. But he’s gonna need to toughen up, buckle up, be prepared for more bumps in the road before we start to finally see the reward/payoff.

Celebrini is on pace for 58 points (in more games than bedard)

Michkov is on pace for 68 (in more games than bedard)

Yes, bedard is in a slump, but he was as good or better than both of these guys last year.

So now to get both out if slumps they are putting Bedard and Hakl on the same line..

Interesting to guess how many Dallas will score agaivst them..You can bet tgey will not scorevonDalkas...

In any case Hawks cannot lose on this:

1.I am wrong g and it works...the 2 disappointments somehow gel .. KR hacked as genius (but do not bet the farm on this)

2.It fails.. then what?Firebug the Fire Richardson chants?

So here we have the "mentor" (Halk) reminding Bedardvof hisvown 17 game goalless slump when he was in his 2nd NHL season..so he knows how the hid feels...but so what?
This us notxabout feelings.. it is the NHL...only about Production in finishing shots past opps goalies.

3 At least LR is trying g to find any combo that works to get Bedard back on track.

The problem is...limited options that can be relied on to actualky PRODUCE gols from slumpers.

Hall having his own production issues with the Hawks...so cannotvthink Bedard takes much comfort froma fellow ubderachievervon this team.

So know in desperation LR trying the 3 Slumpes kibe:

Hall Bedard Kurashev...

Hehas tried everything g else to no avail..

Calling out his 3 slumbers to work it out together?

Vs. the Dallas structure...probably the new kine gets hemmed in all gNe and ne er has the puck.

Yes a wake up call to all 3...prove you Re worthy ofxanNHL job...or else?
