Waived: Beaudin on Unconditional Waivers for Contract Termination

1 less contract. Great news.

Had high hopes for Beaudin at the draft. And then you saw him gradually reach his plateau fairly early. Was worth a shot. But it's now worth recuperating a contract.

Obviously negligible asset values, but the list of names acquired via trade by Hughes that walked away for free is not a short one:
  • Gustav Lindstrom
  • Nicolas Beaudin
  • Brandon Baddock
  • Denis Guryianov
  • Frederic Alllard
  • Tony Sund
  • Tyler Pitlick
  • William Lagesson
*yes small trades or throw ins

I would guess there wasn't even a vague '' future considerations'' on the table from other teams to take those guys, though.

Thats the reality of having a contract limit. You can do same exercise for any management, this number is also inflated due to how active Hughes has been trade wise. You need to fill a jersey too for some of these especially early on during COVID time (Lagesson, Pitlick etc)

Baddock was traded for the goalie with the highest winning % of all time in Canadiens' history (Andrew Hammond).

Sund was the equivalent of "future consideration", 27 old signing rights...

Lindstrom was lost to waivers because the Habs should have sent down Barron way earlier then they did.

Guryianov decided to sign elsewhere.
Habs had not intention to re-sign Tyler Pitlick or Laggesson, they were UFA cap dump acquired at the deadline.

Baddock->Hammond->Schnarr->Allard and Allard signed with the SHL.
