I can’t believe they made him do the press conference two hours ago.
While I didn’t like him as a coach that’s a dirty thing to do.
Agreed. Sucks it happened during the holidays, but he just wasn't head coach material. I think he started feeling the pressure bad when the Hail Mary debacle happened, and as a result he didn't want all the responsibility to fall on him. Which obviously turned the team against him, since it undoubtedly was mostly on him.Seems like a nice fella and all but it had to happen
Sure, but it was unnecessary at that point. He was already toast.Letting him do the press conference was letting him hang himself. He defended his actions in the last 30 seconds again, did he not?
Blamed losing the game on the penalties on the last drive. He directed blame to everyone but himself.Letting him do the press conference was letting him hang himself. He defended his actions in the last 30 seconds again, did he not?
It blows my mind when people feel sorry for someone getting fired who clearly deserves it. The guy has been paid extremely well, and likely never deserved that head coaching money to begin with. He will be fine. He still gets paid.Agreed. Sucks it happened during the holidays, but he just wasn't head coach material. He's a terrible f***ing coach. Good riddance.
Yup, why make the passionate fans sit through that shit for the next 5 weeks.Hopefully this means this whole in season fire thing is a thing of the past. Once you do it once the cats out of the bag.

As I said the other day, not sure I love this, if only because Brown focusing on developing Caleb is way more important than anything he can do as HC the rest of the year. Getting a mess of a locker room together is arguably part of building a successful environment for him to grow within, but hopefully it doesn't get in the way of the other aspects of itThomas Brown in as interim HC. Makes sense. Bit of a trial by fire for him, but so was the OC position.
Milquetoast and poor communicator? I hear Shane Waldron is available! Can’t wait for the bears to hire offensive version of eberflus as next head coach
I can imagine itMilquetoast and poor communicator? I hear Shane Waldron is available!
I do think more teams than the Bears would look at Brown as a HC option if he does well through the gauntlet these last 8 games (3 of which the offense has already looked above average), so they want to know how he looks down on the sidelines. As I said the other day, not sure I love this, if only because Brown focusing on developing Caleb is way more important than anything he can do as HC the rest of the year.
