Bauer PM9 curve, is described by Bauer as Open?

I have multiple PM9s and I don't think they are that open. Obviously the old Drury cuve is truly open (looks like a pitching wedge) but what is the criterion to be called an open curve?

It's not. The PM9 is a neutral curve, it's neither open nor closed. The P88 is slightly open, the P92 is open and the P28 is very open.

The P92 is basically the P28 without the hook at the toe.

Yeah it's like a shallow mid curve. I have a open pm9 curve on my TK prostock and it makes it useable Forsure, but that shallow curve is tough for me.

Useable is completely another story as I find it helps my stick handling and passing, and since I take snappers (like literally push the puck forward and snap my wrist) as opposed to the shots where you pull the puck towards your body and release in one motion I find it relatively forgiving as to where I strike the puck and accurate for all shots.

The velocity is lower (for the same stick) than more curved blades and it flies straight so the goalie can track it but I'm a dman and I want to be surer on the puck.

I think the PM9 is maybe a hair open. I have easton E4s on and they are IMO truly neutral.

The PM9 is the best when it comes to the backhand. It makes it easy to elevate a backhand shot and the backhand saucers are easier to throw than with a P92. Of course, you can use any curve you want if you have enough skill. We all use curves that cater to our strengths. You're a D so you want something that makes it easy to take low accurate shots. I'm a goalscoring forward so I want something that makes it easy to roof the puck with a quick wrist shot.
