I currently wear a RBK 6k that's about 14 months old, the padding is starting to come loose and feels rock hard so I am contemplating shopping for a new lid. My question is has anyone here worn or have the Bauer 5100? I couldn't find much in terms of reviews on MSH from people.

I have a 9900, which I believe is similar in desing to the 5100, and my only complaint is that it's hot. Doesn't breathe near as well as my S19, though it seems to offer more complete protection.

Well, if it makes any difference, the 5100 has been very very well received at every level of play. I've seen many 5100s in the NHL, much more than the top end 9900s. What features are you concerned about?

I've had a 5100 for the last half year.

I like it. My only complaint is the side pieces that go right in front of your ears sort of push into my temples. Maybe I've got an odd shaped head, but honestly I only notice it when I'm wearing it in my house, during a game, or stick and puck I don't notice it at all.

I'm just looking for something that's going to be comfortable and have padding. I've had 2 concussions in the past 3 years so I'm trying to get away from something that's hard as a rock with padding.

I'm also trying to differ the 5100 and the 2100

I've got it, no complaints. Pretty sure a lot of NHL'ers have them too. Give away is the honeycomb foam-plastic that you can see through the forehead vents. Comfort foam is soft.

Obviously, there will be no helmets that can prevent concussions, but your best bet is to get whichever fits the best. However if both the 5100 and 2100 fit you well (which it shouldn't, the 2100 is shallower), than I would be inclined to go with the triple density foams in the 51 as opposed to the dual density in the 21.
