Firebirds with a parade to the penalty box to start the second, three straight PPs for us.

By the way, the PP lines are now:
Gushchin-Poturalski-Bystedt
Cagnoni-Graf

Cardwell-Bordeleau-Sabourin
Carlsson-Thompson

We wind up down 5 on 3, Firebirds make it 2-1.

First a very ticky-tack hooking call on Frisch, then Cardwell accidentally trips the goalie up.

---

2-2. FFS.

Cuda had all the momentum and those penalties brought it to a screeching halt. Firebirds goals were 19 seconds apart.

Barracuda outshoot the Firebirds 26-5 in the period. And it's 2-2. Infuriating.

Plus we're on the PK to start the third, as Graf took a frustration penalty when a Firebird wouldn't get off of him and went off for high sticking.

Feels like sour grapes but that Frisch penalty for hooking really felt like the refs were looking for something to call on us, and it all just unraveled from there.

Firebirds don't mess around with their highlight videos, this thing is eleven minutes long.

Colin White never did come back after blocking that shot I mentioned (You can see it at around 1:15 of this video). Cause for concern there.

Real good game from Cardwell in his first game back with us. Two assists. Lot of shots from us, he had 10 of them. Bordeleau had another 9.

Really tired of every goalie we face being "brilliant," in Nollenberger's words. We're due for one to put up a stinker against us, right?

Shootout:

CV: Morrison (X), Biro (X)
SJ: Gushchin (✓), Poturalski (✓)

Cuda win. Both shootout moves were pretty slick, too. Poturalski busts out his "hang up the phone" celebration again.

Can Gushchin coach our guys on how to do the shootout? Poturalski's goal looks more like the stuff we try to do, but he scored anyway.

Really appreciate you keeping us informed on what's going on in the A.

Let’s not forget the 12 (I don’t remember the exact amount) goals in two games put up against Walstedt to start the season.

Would love another series like that. Here's the goalie statlines vs. us so far in December:
12/4 vs. SD- Clang, 31 saves/32 shots (.969)
12/7 vs. CV- Stezka, 29/30 (.967)
12/8 vs. CV- Kokko, 36/38 (.947)
12/12 @ CV- Stezka, 50/53 (.943)

They've been good goaltending performances, too. But those last three games were all wins, so can't complain too much. Next up: At San Diego, who we've had trouble getting offense going against so far this season.
