Barkov Skates With Teammates For First Time

I'm giddy!!

Edit: Also nice to see Gudbranson already in on the earliest of skates. Already a step forward from last season!

WIiiihaaa GOGO barkov finally the beast has landed. only if we could get the driven documentary to watch from somewhere.

Aleksandr Barkov.

Sasha in quotation marks in the middle or leave Aleksandr out completely, if you wish to use the nickname.

I hate the name Sasha so much. Just sounds too much like a womans name expecially here in Finlnd

I on the other hand, like the name Sasha. And I kinda like when dudes have girl-sounding names. I seem to find that they are more tougher than not.

Although Barkov briefly did a few circles around the ice by himself at D-Camp, the 2nd overall draft pick was finally able to lace up his skates and play with some of his future Panther teammates today at an informal practice in Coral Springs.

Below is a link w/ video/photo and some more info on the practice.

Some people saw Jokinen & Barkov on the same ice this morning.. So did they look alike on ice or not at all?

Me too. Sasha reminds me of this girl I use to know in high school. Really nice girl, but damn, she had the worst smelly breath in the history of man kind. Place a sheet of paper in front of her face, and she can burn a hole right through it!

So I give you that name and I said good bye and I knew you'd have to get tough or die it's that name that helped to make you strong

Don't mind it as a nickname, but if people start calling him Sasha 24/7 I'll be pissed.

He said he prefers to be called Sasha so I can respect that!
My point was to call him just Sasha Barkov or Aleksandr "Sasha" Barkov.

You can't put Aleksandr in quotation marks, that's his real name.

Soup is right. You don't put his actual name in quotations. As for the talk about what to call him, why not just call him Barkov? lol.

It's just a name and I wouldn't mind if that turns out to be his NHL name.

I thought calling players by their first name was a woman thing. Right? Am I the only one that's experienced some middle-aged woman yelling "C'MON ERIK! C'MON KRIS! GOOD JOB SHAWN! WAY TO GO!"

:shakehead

Do people (other than middle aged women, apparently) seriously refer to pro athletes only by their last names at sporting events?

I've seen this gripe before and frankly, I don't understand it.

Based on how dressing room nick naming goes I feel like Barkov will have to eventually get called "Barky" a few times too

Did u see Sasha and Kuli talking at all?

They've spoken a little, hopefully when Barkov gets settled and plants his feet firmly in FL he will get some bros on the team. Kuli has also looked great on the ice during these informals, won't be able to talk to him till camp though
