Saturday 16th October 2021 - 19:00 EST

ATTSN-PT, NBCSCH, NHL Network

The Home Opener

After a trip to Florida where we picked up a surprise win and a meh OT loss we now play Chicago, who frankly, are shit.

Obviously, we are still missing Sid & Geno but have got Jake back.

Our PK is 100%, woohoo

Evan Rodrigues  & Danton Heinen :thumbu: are our leading goal getters, 2 each.

Carter leads the forwards with 3

Letang leads the defense with 4

A previous player returns tonight, let's light him up!

Be Loud, Be Proud

Go Pens!

My wife foolishly decided to do Skype and Switch with her family tonight so might miss this one. Usually makes it a good game though.

Also - and surprised that Scandale hasn't already pointed this out - French-Canadian Hero Kris Letang is our current leading scorer with 4 points. Clearly having even more fruit snacks than Carter!

Kris Letang is the alpha and the omega, the nothing and the everything, he is OUR boy.

Btw, is that Sid dude playing tonight? My man Krissy needs some help.

I find it interesting that the Pens might not have a sellout for this one after fake-claiming sellouts for the last few years lol….wtf, just fake claim a sellout again…what’s the big deal and why is the media writing about this?

You're a weirdo who likes your family though  I mean, I do like my in-laws... maybe more than hockey? Eh, it'll be fine. We have a great night I'm happy for everyone, we have a bad night I'm happy to miss it. Always winning.

The big deal is that the money in the Penguins' bank account wasn't fake, and now that money isn't there.

Although how big it is, who knows. Probably not that big, and probably just something to write about when there's not a whole lot. But you can see why people think the team's finances matter. And, tbf, it is a pretty direct sign of popularity too.

If there was any doubt about Carter sustaining a high level after the off-season... the man had 8 shots on Thursday. Many of the quality variety. Pretty unlucky not to score more. Bobrovsky made some great saves and there was this chance I recall near the end where Carter reached a loose rebound and was only foiled by a defenseman's stick.

High danger chances when he was on the ice 11-2.

He's gonna do a lot of damage if he continues playing this way. It's an inevitability.

I'm just baffled that he had a season in LA where he scored 13 in 76 games. How?
Playing through injury? Depression? Role? Linemates were that awful?

Bryan Rust is not on the ice for today's morning skate. He left Thursday's game after taking a high hit from MacKenzie Weegar. Sidney Crosby is also NOT skating with the main group. ZAR and Mike Matheson ARE skating with the main group.

yikes…Rust and Sid out, ZAR back in…

Spare me these weak excuses! Record or torrent it then. We need your takes in the PGT to restore order.

So much for them not running with BART 2.0, look like it will just be MARB now

Maybe it's just because Rust is injured, though. I have a hard time seeing the Penguins kicking Heinen out of the top-9 after the start to the season he has had.

I went to a wilkes-barre scranton game in the day, I mention there because it's smaller and more obvious that people aren't there... they said it's the teams such and such consecutive sell out ! so cheer!! I'm not cheering for that A. and B... the place is 50% capacity, heh... these people just make things up... I tell ya... I've never actually scene a 100% packed to the absolute maximum capacity event... (in person sports (there will always be one person who couldn't make it etc etc))..
