That's like spending rent money on lottery tickets and saying you have to wait for the drawing to determine if it was a bad decision.
Exactly! You might be a BIG, BIG WINNER !!!!! :)

I think Vesey is literally just a contract to move out to make the bodies in/out even.

Yeah - it feels like when C-Mac said to C-Drury - "you gotta take deHaan though" and he said "oh yeah? Well then you gotta take Vesey".

Do we call him Greasy Vesey?
I've been calling him 'Feces' for a few years now...

Lindgren is worse at D than Georgiev was in goal. Not even kidding.

Better players have passed through the waiver wire in the last few weeks and you could have gotten a comparable player for a 7th or future considerations in the dying moments of the deadline. Not trying to pile on here, but you paid a premium for experience and intangibles.

Beyond that, he just seems like an awful fit for how you try to play.

In Lingren’s defense, the way Rangers have played 2nd half of the season, even Fox and Shesterkin looked bad. A guy like Zibanejad also forgot how to play hockey. Let’s see how Lingren looks on our 3rd pair before judging him

Lindgren sucked last year too when the Rangers won the PT. This isn't some new development that can be tied to the rest of the team. In fact, the team's play really tanked when he was re-inserted into the top 4. Not the only reason, but probably the biggest one.

If you can't pair him with a guy who is really efficient at moving the puck, be prepared for a ton of failed clears, half assed flips to center ice that result in easy re-entries and a boat load of quality scoring chances against. Hell I'd prepare for those things even if he is paired with that kind of defenseman, they'll just happen more even more often if he isn't.

I wouldn't read too much into his "offensive outburst" either. Loads of secondary assists this year where he didn't really have anything to do with the play other than touching the puck before other guys did most (or all) of the work. This isn't really a repeatable skill and is luck driven AF.

He's not a player you can really hide either. He's gotten his f***ing carved away from Fox even in lesser minutes.

How about for once you tell us all these deals you'd like to see? Give us details with the picks and retention involved. You are very good at complaining about what we need, but have not once given an actual move you'd make. Id love to see what the all knowing nammerus has up his sleeve.

Ever wonder what a 2025 1st/2025 2nd/2025 4th and a 2026 3rd AND Byram could get you on the open market? Just look for any comps on the market and I guarantee you that any of those are better then what we have here, which is basically Mitts and Lindgren. It’s not actually that hard.

And acquiring Ryan Lindgren is the "all in"-trade you feel is worth taking? The moment he wins Conn Smythe Trophy for Avalanche, I'll buy a season ticket for you for the next season.
Me personally? No. The value doesn't seem awful or anything, but it's not a deal I would have sought out myself.

Because of that, like I said, I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt to the pro scouts on this one.

I don't think 2015 2nd, 2015 4th and 2016 3rd are all that valuable right now.

Don’t worry, you’ll have a contingent of Cmac loyalist DM’ing you when Lindgren is a plus 2 and has a secondary assist against the Sharks next week, telling you how wrong you are.

Ya its pretty poor asset management due to the failure of the ryan johansen trade. We should have just forced him LTIR.

Until next week when you watch CDH

Vesey is trash, and he was clearly an add in because Bednar is a doofus who disliked Parssinen. Not CMACs fault there. However, some you lot are seriously interesting Lindgren. He's awesome and built for playoff hockey. Sure he's not Seth Jones level, but a legit NHL defenceman who's better than anyone in our bottom three.

Bro you're a Pejorative Slur. De Haan was one of the worst defence men in the league this year.

That says a lot more about our bottom 3 then Lindgren.

Yes, 2/3 years ago.

His game has fallen off a cliff since then.

I will contribute some of that due to Rags being a turd fire this year. I don't think it is wrong to have some hope in this trade. He's coming to a way superior team in a system where he doesn't need to be "the guy" and can start off fresh. We've seen a lot of guys rebound here. I will give CMac benefit of the doubt until otherwise noted.

The Rangers didn't give up up value for CHD. Avs did for Lindgren who is also one of the worst defensemen in the league THIS year. He was also one of the worst defensemen in the league last year.

You could have done better than Lindgren the last few weeks by picking up a player for free.

I'm not trying to dunk on the Avs here (I have no reason to) but you'll see for yourself soon enough. He's beyond cooked.
