What a god awful trade. This is one of the trades you make if your team is a wagon and need a little bit more to put them over the top.

Think the worst part of this trade is it signals there isn't any other bigger trade coming for a #2C or an upgrade on the backend like Jones. I could be wrong, but I don't have much faith in something bigger happening if this is what CMac was working on.
I don't think it really signals anything.

Doesn’t seem great. I don’t understand why Bednar hated Parssinen so much (which I’m guessing is why he got moved).

Gotta hope Lindgren just needs a change of scenery. Also wondering if Wood is moving in another deal because the bottom 6 is pretty full.

The third they gave up for Parsinnen is a sunk cost. They can't get a refund from Nashville. Was it bad to toss a third into the trash can? Yes.

But CDH and Parsinnen are waivers level.

This is a second and fourth to upgrade at two positions.

Lindgren is a marginal nhler. CDH is a marginal ahler.

Vesey is a solid fourth line winger. Parsinnen would be a solid depth option for an AHL team.

For everyone using the JFresh card to declare this a complete loss... Guess we'd be singing the same tune if it was Brock Faber we just traded for?

The Rangers are a horrible team and everyone on that team has been ass this year. Lets give the kid a single game first before we all collectively jump off a cliff.

I think those cards just use random numbers. Like, how do you get 0% for Lindgrin at 5x5 when he as a 50% HDCF%?

Too late; I already went for it

Just remember the reactions to JMFJ when we got him, and how bad he looked for the Pens (Who are STILL paying him next year) and Jackets, while being a passable 3rd pairing D here. I’d expect him to look quite a bit better when away from the stench of this year’s awful Rangers team. The most important thing for the Avs and Bednar’s system is that he is still a good skater, miles ahead of CdH.

To me this deal tells me a few things a far as the strategy :

- always thought they'd try to acquire a RD to push Manson down. With this move, I think thats changed. I could see the Avs moving Manson now with the addition of Lindgren.
- I think they'd probably want to keep Malinski now

So no, for me it doesn't end the chance of landing Jones, it would just mean that the Avs might have Lindgren-Malinski on the bottom pair instead of other trade + Manson.

I think a lot of people said and posted stuff like this right when Kakko was traded too.

He's been a lot better since he got to Seattle. A lot of those Rangers seemingly need a change of scenery. Kakko has 19pts in 27gp with the kraken.
Retaining 50% helps.

Let’s break this down…

Getting:

Lindgren - A bottom pairing defenseman who has been getting caved in and fallen off a cliff for the past 2-3 years.

Vesey - Useless, journeyman plug for the 4th line or a healthy scratch.

Kempf - A 22 year old, 7th round pick. Zero value.

Giving:

Parssinen - Gave up a 3rd round pick for him 2.5 months ago.

2nd round pick - Whichever is the higher of the two 2nds.

4th round pick - Whichever is the higher of the two 4ths.

This is brutal.

The thing is, can we even trust that guys fit our system anymore? Think about the amount of guys CMac has acquired, and Bednar has not used them or misused them. We used to think that if we get someone, he'll be a fit because our FO and pro-scouts know what they are doing. That hasn't been the case for some time now.

This is true, I ate a lot of crow with JJ.
