I guess I can't convince you otherwise, but I will still try. I'm not mad about trading Pärssinen away. He was sitting at the press box. I'm mad at Bednar for the way he used him, but that's not really on CMac.

I'm mad about acquiring Lindgren, who is f***ing awful, and Vesey as a 4th liner, and spending a 2nd doing it.

Wow I’m surprised how many people hate this deal considering the Rangers have been able to even make guys like Shesty and Fox look bad this season.

Not expecting Lindgren to be the second coming of Toews, but I expect this to be a much needed upgrade on the defensive side after being able to escape New York.

Sucks to lose the draft picks and Parsnips, but this trade could easily turn into a steal if we can help Lindgren return to form.

It's not an ideal trade but especially with certain posters they're just taking an opportunity to express alterior motives once again.

We've got some posters who flat out hate CMac and literally everything he does now because he traded the golden boy Byram, and some posters who hate any trade that involves a Finnish player being moved.


This trade isn't great but I also wouldn't be surprised if Lindgren looks a lot better with us then in NYR(Where literally everyone looks like shit this year) and ends up being a much more reasonable looking deal in a month or two.

Long gone are the days for 2nds for Toews or a 2nd and a 3rd for Burakovsky, I see.

I will say, Lindgren playing 20 mins a night against top lines vs. playing 13-15mins on the Avs third pair could be the difference here.

if he provides them good third pair minutes at $2.5mil, it’s a win.

Interesting… I haven’t watched much Rangers hockey this year, so my first reaction was a ton of excitement for this deal.

I didn’t realize Lindgren’s game had fallen off a cliff.

Obviously they’re hoping a change of scenery brings him back to form. If he finds his game, this is a huge win. If he remains at the level he’s played this year, it’s a waste of a second round pick.

Vesey is meh. Solid size for the 4th line, I guess.

That’s it on defence imo, hopefully there’s another forward move to come.

This is an utterly atrocious deal. Good lord, CMac. You literally are getting this level of play from De Haan/Kylington and you give up a 2nd, 4th and Parssinen who you gave up a 3rd for earlier to get a god awful defenseman.

Horrible, horrible start to the TDL. Pro scouts with a gigantic whiff. We don't need to see Lindgren play - he's atrocious.

What a god awful trade. This is one of the trades you make if your team is a wagon and need a little bit more to put them over the top.

Think the worst part of this trade is it signals there isn't any other bigger trade coming for a #2C or an upgrade on the backend like Jones. I could be wrong, but I don't have much faith in something bigger happening if this is what CMac was working on.

I would expect that to happen, because Rangers are so bad defensively. Still not great. Better options were available.

Lindgren can skate well, kills penalties and he lays his body on the line, especially in the playoffs. He'll be Manson Jr.

However, I don't think he has the puck skill to be able to play Jared's system and this is a steep price to pay, especially since we didn't get Dumoulin who is a much better fit stylistically.

Gonna reserve judgement on this until our season comes to an end

To me this deal tells me a few things a far as the strategy :

- always thought they'd try to acquire a RD to push Manson down. With this move, I think thats changed. I could see the Avs moving Manson now with the addition of Lindgren.
- I think they'd probably want to keep Malinski now

So no, for me it doesn't end the chance of landing Jones, it would just mean that the Avs might have Lindgren-Malinski on the bottom pair instead of other trade + Manson.

I think a lot of people said and posted stuff like this right when Kakko was traded too.

He's been a lot better since he got to Seattle. A lot of those Rangers seemingly need a change of scenery. Kakko has 19pts in 27gp with the kraken.
