Nuke's excuse was "family reasons".

Just how much weaker is the KHL nowadays? I've seen Russians disagree abit but I know Henchy has talked about how much the league has regressed. Between that and the Avs prospect history it's kinda got me less excited than I would have been given the reports about his game/highlights/stats etc. I feel like even if he becomes a legit 4th liner that's a huge win given the track record.

Kuzmenko had 37 points in 54 games as a 24 year old/53 points in 45 games as a 25 year old recently in the KHL. Would be a homerun if Kovalenko could even be 80% of what he was for Vancouver last year.

I don't think they disagree it is weaker. However I've seen them disagree that players can develop better in the KHL than the AHL and Junior league before they hit the NHL.

I saw Borna Rendulic in the top 5 in scoring.

It's a lot weaker. The SHL is a stronger league now.

Yeah I worded that wrong. I meant I had seen a few disagree by just how much weaker it is. Seems like a biased take because everyone seems to be on the same page it's drastically weaker. I don't think I've ever watched a KHL game in my life lol

Slows down the hype for me abit. If he can be a good 3rd/4th liner that's a big win. A Kuzmenko level player would be a homerun.

Russian league lost many players from other European countries. It's way weaker.

Russia used to be the destination for Finnish players, if not Switzerland or NHL.

Money wise Russia was probably always second to NHL. I believe.
