He looks like he's playing not to get hurt to me. He knows this team is going nowhere so he's just biding his time to get traded.
Granted, his defensive partners have also uniformly sucked, Petterson has been absolutely horrible this year. Routinely out of position or out-muscled.

Just one of many, many problems though. The stars are hardly pulling their weight right now, overall defensive "system" is beyond terrible, O'Connor couldn't score in a brothel right now and (as has been the case each of the last three years), Malkin is absolute poison on the power play with his crappy stick handling and lazy passes. These will be year-long problems I'm afraid.

Pettersson has taken more hits than any other player in the league since 2018. He's not that type of person.

Normally he does. But I feel like I've seen him bail out of contact more often this year than any year before.

I don't blame him. Why kill yourself for this team that's going nowhere? Keep your body healthy and cash in in free agency or trade.

GMs are stupid but at this point it feels like a 2nd + Hoglander is too much to ask for MP. Hopefully teams pay based on his rep and write off this season as being on a trash team
With Retention it jacks up the price! Also Hoglander has had an even worse season.

This was an absolutely absymal game by Jarry, in a game he could have very easily proved he turned the corner. Instead, he was the main reason the Penguins lost again, even if the team had a few defensive breakdowns.

Avalanche really did not even have their A game, and Jarry folded.

If this team was serious about winning they would call up Blomqvist and trade Nedelkovich or dfa Jarry.

I know the PP has been a lot better this year but putting Hayes on the top unit and not even having him screen the goalie for much of the time is freaking hilarious. And so is Beauvillier playing on the 4th line - if he isn't good enough to be on a scoring line (and he really isn't all that good), scratch him, he is useless when playing with the Acciaris of this world.

Sure, we probably would have lost it anyway because Jarry had one of those "Almost saved the goal but actually didn't, rinse and repeat" nights and the Avs are simply a lot better than us but it's dumb stuff like the above that drives me nuts about keeping Mr. "I haven't had a fresh idea since before Covid" behind the bench.

Well, for sure, but that wouldn't be the funniest outcome.

You can swear here, mom's not looking.

Anyway, I don't think you understand what hypotheticals are so I'm going to assign you extra homework or you get a C- for the semester.

And don't bother filling out the course evaluation, we just laugh at those in the teacher's lounge.
Those who can’t do, teach :sarcasm::laugh:

Morningside
I spent this game getting drunk on mulled wine at a Christmas market which was pretty great all told.

Highly recommended.

This you?
