Such a weird pick…his skating doesn’t fit the Avs style at all!

I honestly have seen some beer leaguers that could skate circles around this guy. He’ll need a ton of work just to make it in the KHL.

I don’t mind the other two picks though. They both have a chance to make it in depth roles.
 
Never watched him play, but curious because his stat line is weird. Very rarely do you see a defenceman that has more goals than assists during a year and he did just that. I guess he might be like Jake Walman?

He never saw an offensive opportunity he didn’t like… like old school burns. Just jumping in whether the situation called for it or not.

I don’t know about coachability… but he’s taking every risk he can. Just the way he plays.
11 goals as a defender against those MHL goalers is pretty impressive regardless. Probably the single best non-NCAA junior league in terms of goaler depth and talent. Not surprising, seems like a very Russian thing to do to play however you want lol. His highlight package reminds me of a draft-year Nikita Zadorov, just doing whatever he wants because of his size and frame.
