No joke.. I was driving through Pueblo and needed a quick bite. Stopped at McDonald's right off the interstate thinking it would be cheap and easy. $16 later for one Big Mac meal I stood corrected in that thought.

I promptly drove away hungry aF for that 45 minute drive home.


That was worse than half a sandwich being 9.99 at Subway another day. Which I did pay for.

Bear in mind, we had players like Forsberg, Fleischmann, O'Reilly, Shattenkirk, Stewart, Jones, Hejduk, Stastny and Duchene among others in the team at times that year. Given these players, I thought the likelihood was pretty stretching hahaha. I promised that if he scored the game winning goal, I'd go out back, grab a big ol' Aussie worm in my backyard and devour it alive and on video.....BIG mistake !

Anyways, the rest is history, and I literally ate crud for it hahahaha.

I just looked at the app for the location nearest my house and a QPC is $5.99. Plus the app is offering free medium fries every day. So yeah for about $8 with tax I could get a QPC, fries and a large drink. For comparison, I went and got coffee at the McD's in NW Calgary late this morning and saw they had a QPC meal for $14.99 CAD, or about $11 before tax.

I think McD's just needs to lay down the law with some of their franchisees if they jack up prices like $10 for one sandwich.

Yeah, missing out on the chance to go to Perth as a port call is the only regret I have about having spent my Navy days solely in the Atlantic fleet. Supposedly the Aussies are just incredible welcoming to the US Navy, not something I'd say most countries (including the US) are. Hell, I remember seeing signs all over Newport Beach that said, "Sailors and Dogs, Keep off the Grass."

I'm sure @the_fan would have a good time. But you need to be careful in some of those countries because not all the young ladies are... well... actual ladies.

From what I understand most of the subs would hit the Philippines back then rather than Japan, South Korea or Taiwan. China wasn't really an option for the Navy regularly in the 90s either, although before the Brits gave Hong Kong back, that was a regular port call for the Pacific fleet.

I'm not saying he's wrong here, but the fact that Bednar doesn't like someone should not carry much weight. Bednar hates his GM, and every player he brings in. Bednar is just in denial that the '22 team isn't what he's working with today. I no longer give two shits about Bednar's feelings. He needs to be a damned coach and start coaching his bottom 9 and bottom two pairings. This bullshit of only working with players on his top unit is getting stale.

We've just gone down this road for a decade and we've finally run out of pavement. Time to travel a new road (head coach). I really believe 10 years is too long for a core and HC to be together. Especially considering how highly favored the Avs have been for years but only got one cup with this core to their name. Hell, they've only been out of the second round once. The Avs have actually started to dismantle the core by trading Mikko.

Seems like the only thing that doesn't change around this team is the HC, and that my friends is becoming an issue.
