Well it would of been nice to hold serve at home but that didn't happen tonight, now tied at one the Jets will have to take one in Colorado. They are going to have to play better and keep mistakes to a minimum
I'm tired and work soon so I can't go on the kind of bender I want to. But my main takeaways are:
-We aren't physical enough
-No pushback, again
-Helley might be the biggest playoff choker in the league. The drop off of in play year after year to the post season is jarring. 10 f***ing goals in 2 games
Maybe not the best showing but if you take away those two self inflicted wounds, it's a different game. The boys will have to sort it out, get ready to win a game in Denver. Some people already really down on this team, that was game two of round one. There's a long, dusty road ahead yet. Drinking holy nectar from the Cup is only granted after surviving a war of attrition. There will be no instant gratification on this journey.
Some push back in 3rd but not near enough. Jets can’t expect to win by beating themselves. Avs 3rd and 4th goals were entirely self inflicted mistakes.
I’ll be optimistic and say they will clean that up in game 3.
score instead of hitting the post and take away the 2 bone headed giveaways and could have been a much better outcome, gotta come out strong on the road and bury our chances, and the second line really needs to step it the f*** up, don't know why people are going after other lines when they have been the worst line we have
It's a marathon, not a sprint. While it would have been nice for the Jets to go up 2-0, It's not the end of the world if they lose a game. Hellebuyck needs to be better, but if any of our horses think they can match MacKinnon's line, they have another thing coming. You can't hard match against him if he's playing practically every second shift. Nate tired is still loads better than any of our guys tired. We have the depth, so use it.
