Dont think the Toronto would trade him right now but if the Leafs are eliminated in the first round and he's still not signed by next spring its very likely he's gone. What do you think he's worth in the cap world? Still signed for another 2 seasons just under 12 mil?

Auston maybe not be on the same level as McDavid, MacKinnon or Draisaitl but hes still a very good goal scorer.

What do you offer?

He’s more then a very good goal scorer. Go watch how many pucks he strips in the d zone and how many draws he wins.

Sadly I believe Mathews will achieve 100 pts this season and then assume his natural form of "Hockey God" ascend into the heavens and become a constellation in the night sky's

I do think they SHOULD trade him for a king's ransom IF they fail again this year, but rather than admit that - they will trade someone else (Marner?) and pretend that'll help.

Note: Think Thornton from Boston. He wasn't really the problem, but the retool got them a cup.

IF a core player is traded it's likely Nylander

Can't wait to see him lead the Yotes to the promised land
can the Yotes compete with Toronto?
Because he can enter the Toronto Maple Leafs' vault and take whatever he wants and get almost all of it every July 1st
his aav will be like 950k but his cap hit 13+m maybe 14m
so 13m every July 1st for 8 years. not sure Arizona can compete with this
and thats not even including everything else that comes with being in a major hockey market

Could see Shane Wright being in play.
Anaheim has the best chance, atm.
Coyotes could offer up, if they get 1st OA, Crouse, Chychrun, and Wright...

It would take a lot more than Shane Wright. Think Zegras and Drysdale
