Yeah it's not too big of a deal. But Willy deserved it this time around imo, he's been great. Him getting an All Star nod is tough with Matthews/Marner on the club

Should've been Willy and Matthews, but this isn't really an all star game anymore.

It's a showcase for kids to get them excited with the sport, and Marner and Matthews are better showcases.

If you look at the overall standings Toronto is ahead of Colorado, however their fans voted in MacKinnon and Rantanen. Makar was their player selected by the NHL.

Toronto is also ahead of Edmonton and their fans voted in Draisaitl and Skinner. McDavid was their player selected by the NHL.

So, wouldn't you think Toronto should have at least three players represented instead of only two?

Maybe there wasn't enough of us Leafs fans who also voted for Nylander along with Matthews.

Hard to argue that those 2 don’t deserve to go also. Pastrnak is second in league scoring I believe.

Nylander and Matthews have the same amount of points so far but hard to keep the reigning MVP out of the All-Star game imho.

I think people who watched a lot of the games would lean slightly towards Nylander, but a lot of others would just pick the big name.

Matthews decided not to play in the 2020 All Star Game because of his wrist injury. However, he still participated in off ice events, so he wouldn't be suspended 1 game by the NHL for not playing.
