Too close to call but took AM, Alfredsson and immediately thought what about the other pair....really a matter of preference more than anything.

I have matthews > Forsberg. An elite generational goal scoring center is more valuable then a pass first intangibles guy that brought other elements to the game like forsberg. At the end of the day, goals reign supreme

I voted Matthews + Alfie, all 4 are great players but I feel like these two would be a more balanced addition to a lineup than two strong playmakers.

I think Matthews may have surpassed Forsberg's regular season peak last year. That being said, Foppa's game was absolutely tailor made for the playoffs. Haven't seen that kind of intensity, ferociousness and battling for the hard parts of the ice from Matthews.

Matthews and Alfredsson.

Alfredsson actually has more top ten point finishes than Marner.

He has 1 more top 10 pt finish but he played 18 seasons to Marners 6 so that doesn't mean anything. Alfredsson was never a 1st AST, Marner already has been 2x.

Are people really comparing Daniel Alfredsson and Mitch Marner based on their pts production? What about their overall games? Their defense, leadership, physical game, playoffs performances, overall impact?

Alfredsson played the whole dead puck era and even after 2005-06 and 2006-07, scoring went down again. He sits 35th of all time for Era-Adjusted Points

Alfie started older (23) and played into his 40's, he's a HOFer

Matthews and Alfredsson.

Alfredsson actually has more top ten point finishes than Marner.

That's a really weak point in Alfredsson's favor, pixie. One guy played almost 20 years in the league, the other's been in the league like 5 or 6 years and is only 25 years old.

That's like saying Mike Gartner's a better goal scorer than Matthews because Gartner has more 40+ goal seasons.

Forsberg>Matthews
Alfredsson>Marner

Matthews and Alfredsson would mesh far better together as Alfredsson was always able to take on the role his linemates needed (scorer, playmaker, mucker etc).

Marner and Forsberg is a bad pairing because both players are pass-first.

Alfredsson is the odd man out here as the worst player of the bunch, but Matthews + Alfredsson is better balanced.

Nahhh Marner ain't no favorite of mine and he won't score on forsberg set up's. I think Mathews Alfie is the more effective duo.

Foppa won the Hart with Tanguay on his line.

Thx for coming.

Yes, 26 goal, 67 point Tanguay and, more significantly 50 goal, 98 point Rocket Richard trophy winner Hejduk.

Forsberg meshed really well with a great scorer like Hejduk.

Matthews won his Hart with a great playmaker in Marner and a hard worker in Bunting. Alfredsson combines both those skills with 5 seasons of over 50 assists and extremely high work rate/defensive acumen.

Swing and a miss.

Okay... but what makes you think you cant plug a great goalscorer next to Marner/Foppa?
