Honestly not really no. I also think very highly of Bedard. He will probably be a better point producer overall though.

I think Bedard will be a better distributor and end up with more assists, but I don't think he ends up as good as a goal scorer. Really hard to tell though judging by the AHL team around him in Chicago right now.

Bedard is going to be a bit of a letdown if he keeps getting compared to Matthews goal scoring and mcdavids everything else

Yeah, sorry I will chime in confidently that many of us non Leafs fans have Matthews as easily better than Draisaitl. Seems like the NHL media and players also agreed that he was better than McDavid rather recently so...sorry honey

On the post game show on HNIC they just said that Matthews has a 13% shooting percentage at shots over 30ft out and the NHL average is 4%.

If anything, Matthews should not be blocking shots. Why risk injury? Leave that to the OT on game 7 in the playoffs, for his calibre of players (there are only two).

I never really saw Bedard in that McDavid/Crosby tier. He was closer to Matthews/MacKinnon/Eichel as a forward prospect. Unreal talent, but probably not a guy you'd expect to win a Hart on his ELC or completely dominate his generation. Matthews was tied for 2nd in goals in the NHL as a D+1 rookie, and was among the top scorers on a per game basis pretty much his entire first 3 years. Then exploded to another level after that, and league scoring increased.
