Back in late November 2017, the Los Angeles Kings signed free agent defenseman Austin Strand to an entry-level contract, a move that was far enough under the radar that virtually nobody noticed, or even blinked an eye.
.
Strand will play in the American Hockey League this season, jumping from major junior hockey in Canada to the professional ranks. He’s big, skates well, has a big shot from the point, he can make plays amd put the puck in the net. That said, he’s a first-year pro. He’s got a lot of work to do before he can take the next step.
.
