how many centers did you disqualify for playing 1 shift at wing ?

if you remove draisatl (because he barely plays center) john T was 12th for all centers in the league in points and 7th in even strength points.
This is with him having an absolute garbage first half of the season

what points are we trying to make here ? that hes not elite ?

He was 10th, not 12th.

You might be including Pavelski as a C, but he hasn't been a C in a long time now.

drai hardly plays center ? Maybe you should watch a few Oilers games

JT isn’t elite , he’s never been elite , he’s always been a very good but overrated player who’s game has been regressing .

Charlie Coyle had 16pts last year. And he was already there last year. Weird to suggest he could somehow replace Krejci.

And hilarious to suggest Bergeron-Coyle-Haula-Nosek is better than Matthews-Tavares-Kerfoot-Kampf.

We shall see Zeke. But I take the Bruins centers over leafs in a heartbeat come playoff time.

You can put all your chips on red, but keep in mind Bergeron is 2 years younger than Jason Spezza and the guys the Bruins have behind him right now will be some combination of Studnicka, Coyle, Nosek, Haula and Smith...

If I'm offered that in a playoff series then as a Leaf fan I'd say wow, that's almost a 50/50 chance ... I'll take it!

ur splitting hairs and deflecting , sure he might not be top 5 elite category in the league but hes as close to that line one can possibly be.
what your point with tavares anyways ?

My point is why is this board constantly ripping on the guys who dug us out of the toilet that we were swirling in for years but constantly make excuse for a lesser player making the same money who did nothing to improve this team .

Just wanna post for later:

1. Tampa
2. Toronto
3. Boston
4. Florida
--- playoffs
5. Montreal
6. Ottawa
7. Detroit
8. Buffalo

Why would you compare 23-24-23 instead of 23-23-24?

Pretty sure the argument being made is after an initial surge in the coaching the Leafs returned to a Babcock-like level under Keefe for the conclusion of the shortened 2019-20 season.

Considering the Leafs have retooled their roster twice since then and have also put up a convincing regular season in 2020-21, it's a take it or leave it thesis that doesn't have a lot of bearing on their Atlantic Division chances in 2021-22.

Because the Leafs just had one of the most epic playoff collapses they have ever had

Bergeron was only 2 points shy of 30 year old Tavares. Tavares plays like a 35 year old and Bergeron continues to play like he's in his prime.

It's hilarious to see Keefe's 116-point pace over 24 games dismissed as just a "brief surge" that was somehow a given, and our 113 point pace over 56 games (notably similar to said "brief surge"...) dismissed altogether due to baseless claims about our division, but the worst cherry-picked 23-game stretch of Keefe's tenure from 2 years ago (that was still an 11 point pace increase on Babcock's stretch, and featured much stronger underlying metrics), that just so happened to directly coincide with the team getting decimated by injury and our starting goalie imploding, is somehow being used to downplay the team going into 2021-2022.

Pettifogging at its best!

It doesn’t matter where that extra game goes. The point is that the Leafs had a brief surge under Keefe, but reverted to their poor form by season’s end.
This .
Remarkable the tears that have been shed over something so meaningless.
The insecurity of some is staggering.

So Boston's 1st line center, who was joined at the hip with two elite wingers better than him, produced less than Toronto's 2nd line center, and you somehow think this means that Boston has better center depth than Toronto?

Again I take Bruins centers come playoff time over leafs....

Regular season might consider the leafs.

Still waiting for you to tell me their secondary strategy…..
