Heading into 2020 - any opinions on Notre Dame as an option for a midget player with future intentions to play JrA (or an outside chance at CHL) after highschool? Is Notre Dame still a top development option in the ultra competitive hockey academy landscape - with all the options that have popped up over the past several years?

The Hounds play in the smaaahl - which seems to give them a very competitive environment for their players (ie: they are challenged, they don't run away with their league but are usually are competitive for the league title).

If you value academics as much as the hockey side of things, for a player in his final year of midget and high school - would there be any reasons against pursuing an opportunity to play for the Hounds?

Value any opinions from folks who have their finger on the pulse of player development & academic options and how the landscape looks or has shifted in the past few years and where Notre Dame fits today.

The MAAA league in Saskatchewan is a good league. They regularly place several teams in the Mac's Midget tournament and are always competitive. Without knowing the background of an individual player it is hard to know what the best model is but Notre Dame has a very good reputation. (And I am from AB)
