At 16, you can tell what type of player the person is going to be and how they will look in an adult body and what their style of play is going to be, as their old enough for it to be pretty set in stone.
Predicting future supstars isn’t possible, save for the occasional generational talent like Crosby and McDavid. Players can be busts because they peak too early and stop developing. Trying to find players who will be super stars down the road is a pretty big waste of time. A lot of people say that the NHL Entry Draft age of 18 is way too early and that 20 is much better.
