Selfishly I'd like to see a management overhaul and some major moves made - that would make me most interested in next season. Hard to say if that's the best play though, pretty drastic and we are already quite committed to the current 'plan'.

Setting expectations feels like a fools errand at this point. They will make the playoffs and hope we get lucky next year.

I'd like to see that fourth win in the playoffs. I'm not even fussy about the manner in which this ultimately gets accomplished.

Even if available, who and what are you willing to pay ? Andy cost us a 1st (Steel) and a 2nd (Comtois).
Within the context of the corner Dubas has painted himself into, they absolutely have to be prepared to pay a price like that to get this mythical stud goalie. Dubas has to borrow from the future in an effort to maintain whatever this is. Goalies are difficult to develop. An organization developing an NHL starter once a decade is doing well.

Can't see the Leafs winning a round next year. They should have a decent regular season though.

The Leafs will be an elite team again next year. And the year after. And then year after that. And the year after that. And
serious question , will they ever win a playoff series or will they get to 0-10

Mrazek's contract definitely should not be under the Pros when losing him for nothing would be an improvement.

Hoping we find a goalie who can put up a big game performance in an elimination game, for once. Same goes for Matthews and Marner, hoping they step up when it matters because never having you best stuff in the biggest moment isn't good enough.

Hopefully they finally find this promised “elite’ level. Maybe this year, if not next year or the year after for sure.
Getting tiresome watching them constantly tread water. Sink or swim already.

Over the next 3 weeks they need to start filling several positions if they want to contend for the Cup.

1 goalie
A top 2 winger
Minimum of 4 bottom 6
Depth on D

Expectations will depend on how successful they are filling their needs, but right now they have a lot of missing pieces.

I would genuinely like to know if any of the Dubas club think "My God, I make a lot of excuses". I wonder if it ever dawns on them, that for everything, there's an excuse.
Nope. Just stats and expected wins

The Leafs will be an elite team again next year. And the year after. And then year after that. And the year after that. And
In other words they could lose for 5 more years and you'll still be preaching the same shyte

I expect more of the same really. Lack of urgency and accountability at the highest levels of the organization, both in management and among the players, with only depth players feeling any pressure to perform. Coddling of "core" players..... We can and we will..... Yadda, yadda, yadda.....

Handshake respect is good for that other team that is moving on to that mythical round 2, but what can we as fans do?

Part of me says they’ll find a way to move out Mrazak , sign Campbell and fill out the roster with Marlies, and then part of me thinks they’ll the I think they move significant players next week. Oftentimes, when teams do the latter it takes more than one season for the new players to gel with the team.

What I want to see?

Kerfoot/Holl traded for futures. Campbell walks. Mrazek traded (hopefully as painless as possible).

Marc-Andre Fleury brought in to stabilize the goaltending and give us some Cup pedigree.

Feisty players added to the lineup (ZAR/Domi/Vatrano types).
Maybe Fleury of three years ago, but I don't think a 37 year old goalie is the answer.

Mrazek needs to go.

One of the big four needs to go for cap relief.

The drafting needs to be better. Outside of the first round, we've terrible. Sure Holl was a good find, but it took a while for him to get to the NHL. If Amirov doesn't make it to the NHL, Dubas should be fired for not taking Schneider.

You need a power forward on each line. Nick Ritchie was supposed to be that player. Bunting has power forward tendencies, but not size and turned into a good find.

Ya, let’s rip the bandaid of this puppy and see what we got

Depends on what happens with the goaltending. If it's similar to the 2nd half of last season we're fighting for 3rd in the Atlantic and most likely tapping out early in the playoffs.
If we get a strong starter then anything is possible.

I agree with your shopping list, but Dubas will never fulfill it. I don't think any GM can pull that off in 1 offseason.

I don't expect major changes, nor do I believe they need major changes.

It was 115 point team with 2 months of dreadful goaltending.

Would be nice to go into the playoffs with a healthy line-up, but all teams would like that.

I'd have no issue if they used their 1st. round pick to bring in a top 6 forward (along with other assets).

Leafs lost in the 1st. round, but they had help and played a pretty good team there.

Expect to see at a minimum 2 prospects make the line up.

If they don't make progress in the playoffs, then I expect some major changes.

Bunting-Matthews-marner
NewGuy-Tavares-Nylander

Kerfoot, Engvall, Kampf, Clifford, Simmonds, Kase, Abruzzesse

UFA Signing for Bottom 6 (excludes NewGuy):
Center, Winger
