Well Ron Wilson is one of the winningest coaches in NHL history so...

I thought it was a good article. His line/ice time decisions are baffling. I have no idea why he'd force Phaneuf to the side he's less comfortable on.

And his handling of Grabovski and subsequent comments is hilarious. Just awful.

Does Ron Wilson have a Stanley Cup? No.

Carlyle has made questionable decisions, but I don't want to write him off after only 28 real games (I don't count the end of last season. The season was over when Carlyle came in, and that group was broken. That was more of an evaluation period than anything). Especially when the previous idiot received almost 4 full seasons.

No coach is perfect, and I've seen fans from every single team complain about their coach at one point or another.

Do you mean the same side where he's playing the best hockey of his career at?

the real question is, can anybody stop Puck Daddy from writing sloppy sensationalistic hockey related articles

Is it just me, or does the article reads like nothing more than an extended posting on this board....nothing original and mostly debatable points.

The team was built to suit Ron Wilson. I'd like Nonis to flip some players before I judge Carlyle.

Agreed 100%

Opposite styles and systems require different players to make it successful.

You can't make chicken salad out of chicken feathers no matter who the chef that is doing the cooking.

I am starting to think he is more interested in developing this team and certain players then focusing on playoffs. I really think they are keen at the prospect of playoffs but developing the system and experimenting now for the future is higher priority.

The obvious stuff would be using Connolly, Komi, Liles and hoping they have better seasons for trade value reasons, its what I would have done even if its to move up 1 tier in picks at trade time it would have been better but thats just my thoughts on the matter,

This article blog whatever has Zero merit. none not even good points. Vultures first chance to circle articles are now coming out. Pay no attention to it.

Just to add I think we will have a lot of picks come draft regardless and be trading up

Trading up is a very very costly hobby if you are thinking in the first round. Moving picks to move up in the second/third round maybe(i think you mean in 2nd/3rd) is a possibility.

Komi must have really gotten under Carlyles skin whatever happened when he got injured.

absolutely 2nd 3rd, which is fine look at Finn last year you pull out one or two of those in a draft and you are sitting pretty.

I have my mind made up that his outburst ruined him for Carlyle, that ones over and to the point of I wont even play you if I have someone far more deficient than you on the ice. very stubborn.

Not very bright if this is the case. The team is supposed to come before the individual, coach included.

What out burst? Carlyle was snubbing him pretty good way back when he injured himself. That story has never opened up any from then did it?

You could put a stanley cup contender together from 2nd/3rd rounders in going back only 12 years i'm sure. Maybe i shouldn't say that lol, it will just make a pile of research for me haa.

do you have any proof of this? I for one really really like Carlyle's coaching thus far. I just see a lot of statements made on here with absolutely no substance, yet we are suppose to take these type of statements as actual events. There is no proof. Komisarek is an AHL caliber defenseman. It's not like we are having Borje Salming up in the pressbox over a disupute with the coach. This is Komisarek! The only reason he's not in the AHL is because of Burkie rigged his contract in such a way that prevents him from being sent down without his permission.

Komisarek - AHL caliber. The "debate" should really stop here.

I don't understand how anyone could be unhappy with Carlyle thus far. The team has improved over last season in almost every facet. Our penalty kill has gone from bottom 5 (for several years) to top-10. The PP is adequate, and the even strength play has been solid.

I understand some people may not agree with some of his personnel decisions, but at the end of the day, could you really see the Leafs being significantly better than they have been so far?

Feels like he's trying to force this team into something that its not rather than building on our strengths and improving our deficiencies.

And I guess you know better than Carlyle based on your vast NHL coaching experience?
