I think we end up keeping schenn until next deadline. He isnt amazing but he is a competent 3rd pairing rhd and we dont have alot of those.

Nyquist should be gone asap
Lauzon as well.

Those are the two i really want to see moved at the moment. If someone offers something decent for schenn sure move him. We can have a 3rd pairing of Wilsby and Stastney. It would need to take on a different role either neither of them will be able to body people around.

By a remarkable coincidence, after playing against that Dallas team the Jackets are temporarily down Marchenko and Fabbro.

That's what plenty of us are hoping for. That said, nearly all contract extension news we hear nowadays is about Olivier, mostly because the pundits are circling and salivating.

My guess is if you are Fabbro and the money isn't that great coming off of this season you just take a year or two getting what you can and hope you can get that number up for something more long term. I guess really though it comes down to whether he wants to try and maximize possible earnings or wants more security.

I dunno, it would be nice if we had an organizational mindset that might accommodate a player like Zegras.... but... I mean, he's kind of a soft/fancy sort of skill guy, and if he came here he'd probably not be appreciated or integrated properly? I just don't think we have the kind of landing spot he needs to succeed?

So then, if we gave up the kind of assets it would take to actually acquire him... it's kind of just a waste of time?

Zegras has had the same rumors for 2 seasons now. The price is either too high or, more likely, the whole thing is complete bullshit. One-way player with issues staying healthy. Would be highly surprised to see Trotz interested.

Zegras is definitely "high risk"... is he even "high reward"? Not sure...

He's young, which I like. Has one more season until the $5.5 million AAV expires which I like. But missed 2/3 last season and has missed time this year...eh....as with most, depends on the ask. Maybe one of our low 1st and a mid-high prospect?
